I had tons of baseball cards circa 1967 - 1970 ish. NOT kept in pristine condition. I distinctly remember a defaced “Micky Mental” card with goggly eyes drawn on. My ten year younger brother saved the best of the lot (rookie Rod Carew and Johnny Bench cards, for example), and gave them to me years later. I eventually gave them to a coworker who had a son that was into collecting.
Wouldn’t it have been great to have those games in Van Andel Arena in Grand Rapids? Neutral site but within two hour driving distance of three of the teams. Capacity of around 12,000. Downtown location with restaurants, bars and hotels. Why can’t we have nice things?
I started a pool over 30 years ago, based on an article by Bill Simmons. You pick ten teams, then accumulate points every time one your team wins. You get 3 points plus the team’s seed for each win.
The pool is still going strong at my workplace, 5 years after my retirement, with hundreds of entries annually.
Unlike many posters, I know I don’t know anything on the topic. I’m not sure why we’d go the mid-major route, but it sounds good to me.
i loved the TO free basketball we played under Beilein, as well as the player development, and would love to see it again. Not sure that you can make it hiring criteria, but again, what do I know?
I don’t think there is anything salvageable from this season.
The repercussions of this shit show start with Alex. Why would he come back after being forced to endure this torture? What did he do to Brian to deserve this?
GW and Yoyo were firmly attached to the bench, so who knows if they will ever develop? With Transfer-Palooza, why would we expect Dug and Tarris to stay? I love the heart of Cheddar, but that’s not the basis of a team.
Was this an article about the game or whether Juwan will be retained? It’s telling that no one gives a rip about the game. We are even more checked than the team.

Not a bad idea, but I’m guessing Juwan is making a bit more than Bump did. The money situation has changed dramatically in the past 50 years.
