Will we see more alternate uniforms this year?
It seems like the reception to the all-blue uniforms was mostly positive so I'm curious to see if they'll do alternate uniforms for another game this year. Since we were introduced to the all-blue during recruiting visits, I could see them wearing blue pants with a white top for a road game or maybe blue pants with a maize top. Would you want to see another alternate uniform this season, or wait for next season, and which of these or others would you want to see? I've seen some alternate helmet designs too but I don't think we're ready for those yet...although the block M and Michigan flag concepts are tempting.

I like them as well, however, and hear me out here. I was disappointed they chose to wear them against Washington a team that wears purple pants on the road, they blended to much. It took away from the game a little for me. Would much rather see them against a Penn State or Wisconsin.

Don’t like the idea of alternative helmet designs at all. Putting anything but wings on our helmets would be to disparage the greatest helmet design in all of college football. I might be able to deal with a reversed color combo on the helmet—maize background and blue wings or maybe white background (since that is already in the rotation as one of our colors) and blue or yellow on the wings, but nothing else. Even those are likely a bridge too far for me because we already have the perfect and most iconic helmet.
The block M helmet is dumb because we would then be copying Missouri, and why would we want to look like them? All of the others are even worse and remind me of Maryland’s goofy infatuation with adorning their uniforms with all different kinds of iterations of the Maryland state flag. MD’s excuse is that the Maryland flag is pretty cool looking with its heraldry-derived look and that the turtle that is its own mascot is underwhelming at best.
Michigan’s state flag is blah and since we have never had a mascot in modern times no one would know that the animal on the helmet is a wolverine. Best to file this idea in the pile of Brandon rejects and other oddities that went the way of stadium halos and giant Kraft macaroni & cheese sculptures.

Good luck with anyone trying to change the helmets unless they want to seminate WW3. Bo actually didn't like them and put out feelers on changing them and was shocked by the foracital response. I'd almost like to see an attempt, just to see the backlash... it's truly the glue that holds us together.

Love the all-blue. Like the all-white. Would love white-on-blue road unis. Hey, bring the white-on maize road unis back, sure. Maize-on-maize? Oh, hell no. I do not like the maize jerseys due to the blue collar. Lose that and they might work for me.
Fuck with the helmet color scheme in any way and face my wrath. The wrath of Clarence Boddicker.

Not sure why we're talking about the helmets. That would never change, just like ND, PSU and Bama won't change their helmets.
I suppose you could get one game where they wear a completely different helmet for some crazy ass reason (like something that resembles the original leather helmet as an AWFUL gimmick), but they're not going to mess with the existing one.
Anyway, I already made my stance. I think we should use all of the combos...every year.
As I've said before...
If it were up to me (and clearly it is NOT)...
- vs. WMU (blue/maize...traditional home to open, always)
- vs. Washington (blue/maize...night game, primetime, go with tradition)
- vs. NIU (blue/maize...not worth wasting the blue/blue)
- vs. Rutgers (blue/maize...it's homecoming, duh)
- @ Wisconsin (white/maize...already too much white in that stadium, let's stand out a little)
- @ Nebraska (white/blue...nice contrast against red/white of Nebraska)
- vs. Northwestern (blue/blue...hopefully a 3:30 game, but even if it's not, this would be a great choice this time of year)
- @ MSU (white/maize...have to bring more maize to East Lansing)
- vs. Indiana (blue/maize...keep it simple, stupid)
- @ PSU (maize/maize...go bright against the white out)
- @ Maryland (white/white..."new" traditional)
- vs. OSU (blue/maize...traditional vs. OSU, always...EXCEPT, let OSU wear RED! And both teams where their home uniforms every year, like USC/UCLA and Utah/BYU...the contrast would be awesome!)

So many comments about this issue must mean that heat is off the performance issues right now! Aren't many subjects less important than color of the jerseys. Though I am usually disappointed when the legacy uniforms aren't worn; especially after a loss (ie, lousy looking, uninspired alternates somehow contribute to the results). This week of all blue was the best of the alternates, especially since it contributed to a victory!
