There's not a single Ole Miss fan that didn't know they were going to be bad on D this year.

I want Partridge back. Loved his energy, attitude and enthusiasm. Also recruited like a MFer.
December 18th, 2020 at 8:23 AM ^
CP’s recruiting was from his Jersey connections from when he was a HC. I’m not sure how many kids he currently knows and Schiano wasn’t there when CP was pulling 5*s from NJ.
It will be very hard for CP to continue recruiting like he did ~2 years ago.
December 18th, 2020 at 1:21 AM ^
You'd rather have CP back after how Ole Miss has looked this year and 1 season as a co-DC instead of Banks, who's been co-DC at Penn State since arriving in 2016, and being a pretty good recruiter himself?
December 17th, 2020 at 11:13 PM ^
Poor Mike McCray the odd man out without the follow.
December 18th, 2020 at 6:01 AM ^
That means whoever took the screenshot isn't following him.
December 17th, 2020 at 11:13 PM ^
PSU is looking to trade Banks for Shoop. His wife is very hot, or so I’ve been told
December 17th, 2020 at 11:18 PM ^
Derek Mason has similar follows including Hood, Sommerville, Angelique, and UM Associate AD.
December 17th, 2020 at 11:23 PM ^
Mason for DC and Banks for safeties coach would be a nice start.
December 17th, 2020 at 11:39 PM ^
From those follows looks like Michigan will hire Mason as DC, Herbstreit as QB coach, and Jon Gordon as recruiting coordinator.
And CINCO will be transferring to Michigan from the 'University of Ole Miss.'
December 18th, 2020 at 7:01 PM ^
Might be worth hiring Herbstreit and shoving him in a closet somewhere so I don't have to listen to him anymore.
December 18th, 2020 at 3:15 PM ^
Yes, please. I’ve been on the Derek Mason train for a while now.
December 17th, 2020 at 11:47 PM ^
I'd love to have Banks along with Mike Elston
December 17th, 2020 at 11:50 PM ^
Makes sense. I’m sure Gattis knows him well and can vouch for his recruiting chops.
December 17th, 2020 at 11:52 PM ^
Penn State’s 247 people are saying Michigan is trying tog et him.
Think it’s safe to say Harbaugh’s extension is agreed upon.
December 18th, 2020 at 12:14 AM ^
Absent a slam dunk head coach replacement, this is the preferred outcome. Would hate to sit through the crap Dantonini did at state when he was rearranging coaches like they were deck chairs on the titanic year after year.
December 17th, 2020 at 11:52 PM ^
So much talk about Partridge, what about the Ole Miss OC Jeff Lebby who's lighting things up in the SEC West with inferior talent (including 48 against Bama). Also Kendal Briles at Arkansas. I like guys who are getting the most from lesser talent.
December 18th, 2020 at 1:00 AM ^
Ole Miss' offense has plenty of talent. Kiffin promised in the spring there would be lots of scoring. Rich Rod was the OC last year and he gashed LSU more than anybody, including Tua & Bama.
The interesting part is that Kiffin's offense is completely different and they benched RR's QB because he wasn't the right fit.
December 18th, 2020 at 8:16 AM ^
I'll pass on offspring of Art Briles.
December 18th, 2020 at 10:53 AM ^
Don't know anything about the offspring, but seems a little unfair to disqualify him based solely on who is his dad. Sins of the father, I guess.
December 18th, 2020 at 2:29 PM ^
He was coaching there for about 8 years while all this went down. Hard pass. No way the university brings in any one with that kind of baggage right now.
December 18th, 2020 at 12:14 AM ^
Hopefully, it is just to take over for Shoop? That would be ok.
He's around a top 50ish recruiter each of the last 2 seasons and taking him from Penn State would take away their pipeline they developed in Michigan and may help us with the Belleville kids and others in Detroit that we've struggled to bring in recently.
If he's a co-DC/Safeties coach with Mason as the other co-DC and play caller then I think it would be fine.
December 18th, 2020 at 12:24 AM ^
I sure hope so. I'm all for adding him as an assistant but as the head man of the defense? Yikes.
December 18th, 2020 at 12:43 AM ^
He’s likely in the running for a job on the defensive staff. We will have to see what.
Seems like an uninspiring DC hire, but might be a good fit somewhere.
December 18th, 2020 at 1:18 AM ^
Steve Lorenz at 247 just started following him as did Clayton Sayfie at Rivals.
December 18th, 2020 at 8:28 AM ^
That’s not how his newest twitter follows are displayed—Gattis and Webb are at the top, then Dudek is a bit farther down the list.
Banks follows over 1500 people, including players and coaches from teams all over the country, including other recruiting coordinators. He follows a number of UM players, but he also follows several players from OSU. I would guess he follows all these people because he’s heavily involved in recruiting, not because he’s coming here to coach.
December 18th, 2020 at 8:37 AM ^
I literally took a screen shot at the time. No intent to deceive here.
December 18th, 2020 at 10:45 AM ^
Just discovered something odd—when I initially checked out Banks's twitter followings, I was on my phone, and the newest follows were fairly different from your screen grab.
However, I just checked who he's following on my laptop, and it's the same as your screen grab. Why mobile and laptop would be showing significantly different things I have no clue.
I'm still skeptical who he's following is indicative of an impending move to Michigan, but it will be interesting to keep track of this. If nothing else, looks like he's a pretty good recruiter and having a Detroit guy on staff would be a plus.
December 18th, 2020 at 10:15 AM ^
Desktop Twitter shows his follows in order of recency
December 18th, 2020 at 12:22 PM ^
Looks like he also coaches safeties, could be Bob Schoops replacement
December 18th, 2020 at 12:54 PM ^
December 18th, 2020 at 1:18 PM ^
Is this the dude who has been stealing Detroit dudes out of Michigan's backyard?
December 18th, 2020 at 2:10 PM ^
Yep he is definitely guilty of that
December 21st, 2020 at 12:53 PM ^
I here they are interested in Moorehead too,
