Porn company BangBros submits $10 million naming rights bid for Miami Heat stadium
Looking forward to reading the one liner comments on this story....
Things are changing in Miami and apparently BangBros wants in.
"American Airlines' naming rights deal over the Miami Heat arena will expire at the end of this year. Yet, the company announced on Thursday that it doesn't plan on renewing their contract with the franchise. This leaves a void that BangBros is looking to fill. According to the Miami-based internet porn company, it has placed a $10 million bid to rename the arena "The BBC (The Bang Bros Center).""

Will they want Mia Khalifa to be the on-field reporter?
September 13th, 2019 at 12:01 PM ^
Can she be the court-side reporter even if they don't acquire the rights?
September 13th, 2019 at 1:13 PM ^
I’d tune in.
September 13th, 2019 at 11:53 AM ^
They should try for Ohio Stadium instead. BangBros Stadium next to Value City Arena has a nice ring to it.
September 13th, 2019 at 11:56 AM ^
I understand that Tidy Bowl has the inside track on naming rights for that.
September 13th, 2019 at 1:45 PM ^
Heh, inside track -> tidy bowl, nice.
September 13th, 2019 at 4:10 PM ^
THE Toilet Bowl in Flushing, NY is still available............

A lot of Bang for your Buck!
September 13th, 2019 at 1:05 PM ^
I'd clap at the witticisms here, but given the locale in question, I'm sure "clap" is already covered.
September 13th, 2019 at 11:55 AM ^
Pure PR stunt, but if they were serious you’d probably need about 200 million to have the Heat consider it.
September 13th, 2019 at 11:59 AM ^
Yeah $10 million is way low. The Tigers got over $50 million and that was 20 years ago.
I am surprised that a porn company has that much to spend though. I mean, who pays for porn these days? Old people? Mormons?
September 13th, 2019 at 12:05 PM ^
My thought as well how do they have $10M unless they knew they had no shot at this anyway.
September 13th, 2019 at 9:11 PM ^
Probably below (haven’t gotten there yet) is some reference to blowing their wad with a $10M offer.
September 13th, 2019 at 12:07 PM ^
Ad revenue most likely...there's heavy traffic to those sites.
September 13th, 2019 at 12:23 PM ^
I think he's joking, meaning there is plenty of free porn without a subscription.
September 13th, 2019 at 4:05 PM ^
Exactly. I mean they get paid the same way all these you tube stars get paid. How much do you pay for Facebook? Yet it’s a billion dollar company.
I wonder how many people they can cram into a box at bang bros center.
September 13th, 2019 at 7:46 PM ^
My vote for best one-liner here
September 13th, 2019 at 12:09 PM ^
Companies like Bangbros have partnerships set up with sites like Pornhub so they get a fuck ton of ad revenue on top of subscriptions.
September 13th, 2019 at 12:40 PM ^
Internet ads are the biggest scam currently going. No one clicks them and most people have adblockers.
September 13th, 2019 at 12:41 PM ^
+1 for "fuck ton". Appropriate unit of measurement in this case.
September 13th, 2019 at 1:22 PM ^
He said "unit"

Fuck ton = 8 shitloads. #themoreyouknow

Not old people. It's free or we do without.
September 13th, 2019 at 12:10 PM ^
Well, it’s working because I can promise you that this is the first I’ve heard of Bang Bros. I swear.
September 13th, 2019 at 12:29 PM ^
You mean it's NOT working? Bit of a Freudian slip there, eh LL Bean?
September 13th, 2019 at 12:45 PM ^
No, I think you’re confused.
September 13th, 2019 at 3:44 PM ^
The PR stunt is working
September 13th, 2019 at 11:55 AM ^
Step 2: get a couple players who dunk especially well, and nickname them the Bang Brothers.
September 13th, 2019 at 12:19 PM ^
The announcers could call these dunks rim jobs
September 13th, 2019 at 2:00 PM ^
They'd probably draw a lot of reach around fouls.
September 13th, 2019 at 8:19 PM ^
Probably score a lot on back door cuts

BangBrothers Turn up the heat stadium....
it has a ring to it.

The request for proposals (or whatever) probably reads:
"The Company shall retain the right to reject any and all bids regardless of value..."
September 13th, 2019 at 12:38 PM ^
Of course. When you sell your house, you don't just automatically take the highest offer.
September 13th, 2019 at 1:09 PM ^
Yes, you do. Did you forget the /s?
September 13th, 2019 at 3:53 PM ^
Sure wasn't being sarcastic. There are many factors when selling something, not just dollar amount
September 13th, 2019 at 3:55 PM ^
I didn't when I sold my place in May.
I had multiple offers and went with a middle one. It was $25K less than the highest offer. I did that for a number of reasons:
1. I suspected the buyer was an investor. I lived in one of the two historic neighborhoods in town. One is completely gentrified and unobtainable for most people. Mine, was on the way to being that way but not there yet. That neighborhood needs people to come in and maintain the beauty of things the way they were back in the 1890s - 1900s. Not scrape properties.
2. The offer I accepted seemed to have stronger financials.
September 13th, 2019 at 4:40 PM ^
Off the top of my head, reasons not to take the highest offer include:
- Timing: will they close when you need them to?
- Will they rent back to you for a month or two after closing so you don't have to move twice? I moved twice last summer and we would have happily taken a lower offer (depending on how much lower, of course) if we could have avoided that.
- Does the buy have any conditions and contingencies? Some of these could cost you money or be a general pain in the ass and others could cause problems for closing (i.e., if the offer is contingent on the buyer having sold their house). We got an offer on a house from a pair of lawyers once and it came with a whole list of things. They didn't offer enough additional money to make it worthwhile.
Obviously most buyers are willing to put up with more bullshit for a significantly higher offer, but when the difference is smaller it can matter.

PornHub is branching out into sponsoring legitimate art exhibits at reputable museums.
LINK (to Bloomberg, not to PornHub)
A friend told me. I only read Bloomberg for the pictures.
September 13th, 2019 at 12:05 PM ^
I hope Bang Bros doesn't pull out of this, causing this whole thing to blow up in the Heat's face.
September 13th, 2019 at 12:12 PM ^
They're going to get pounded by the media for this stunt. They should probably use the backdoor to escape the scrutiny.
September 13th, 2019 at 12:36 PM ^
Agreed. That would be tough to swallow.

"The BBC"?
At first I thought that was too small for a name, but then realized that's probaby why they hid "big" in the name to compensate.
Clever, those guys.

Hey, at least they can sponsor the glory holes in the restrooms. And, of course, they'll gladly handle all the cameras :)
