I mean by definition, yes he did.

Jesus, why are you goobers trying so hard to dismiss him already? ffs.

FAU was a terrible program, and we won with them. Took them to a final four, and then won 25 games the next season, beating TAMU and Arizona. Yes, they looked bad against Northwestern, but he built up a bad program to one that won at a level way above their status.

Not trying to dismiss him but to say he turned them into a Final Four school is hyperbolic and a tool to try to make him sound like a better candidate than he is. He did well at FAU but now we have to see if that translate given how Michigan operates. Im sure FAU wasn't as stringent as Michigan has been.

So then Sparty is a national championship school since they went thr championship game in football 1 time lol You see how stupid that sounds lol Again, im not dismissing the hire but a school has to have multiple final four appearances to a "final four" school. Had it been said "he took them to a final four" instead of "he turned them into a final four school", then I wouldn't have called the statement hyperbolic.

I think it's the fact that he has been there for six years and last year was his only real good year. This year he had a great team and was ranked preseason and lost to Northwestern so not really exceeding expectations. Porter Moser went to the final four with Loyola and hasn't translated at Oklahoma. May seems like a flash in the pan type of guy like Moser or Enfield.

No Porter is not doing wonders at Oklahoma (.545), but his total win percentage is ontrack with what it was at Loyola (.571) so it seems as though he's par for the course at the moment. Sometimes it's because a coach is just a winner and sometimes it's just a few magical seasons.

However, it seems extremely premature to automatically declare Dusty May a flash in the pan, don't you think? He's only been at one school and he already has a better total win percentage than Beilein himself ended with. Which is also a clip better than Porter Moser at his best.
