Crystal Balls Coming in for 4-Star OT Blake Frazier
Blake Frazier is a 6-5, 260-pound OT from Austin, Texas, who was part of the group on campus this weekend. Two big crystal balls just came in for him - yesterday from Steve Wilfong and today from Sam Webb. Frazier is No. 213 nationally, the No. 36 OT. Yes, please.

Oh hell yeah!!!!
It was one for each ball.

Sam also put one in for Ohio 3 star OT Ben Roebuck (who has had a few Michigan Crystal Balls already).
I may have missed it on the board but we got a couple predictions go our way for Mekhai White last week, a 3 star WR from Virginia.
In total we have 10 uncommitted 2024 prospects with Michigan crystal balls in for them.

Hook ‘em!

BIG BLUE!
Roll Tide!
Boiler up!
Couch Fire! (or whatever the MSU cheer is that isn't ours.)
Go green go white, can't read can't right (write)!

On his most recent Podcast Sam said he (and many in the M 247 crew) have held off on a CB for White as they believe that M may be waiting on a few other options --- l'Marion Stewart and the "Charly Boys" -- before they would take a commit from White.

Yea I think Michigan leads for 5 WR (Goodwin, Shipp, Stewart, White, and Josh Jackson). And we're probably right there for Gatlin Bair as well. The board is definitely murky at that position. I think they have a few priority takes still available that they are pursuing. Once/if those go south, I'd expect to see some commitments from that group of 5.

Sam mentioned that the staff views Bair as a 2026 recruit because he's likely doing a Mormon mission
Do we lead for any of the vietnam soldiers?
+1 Informative

Brice Marich apparently just put in 3 new crystal balls and upped his confidence on 1 already in, but they're not showing on 247 yet

maybe he knows "JD Comin' " to quote @ghostofjermainegonzalez

That poor guy is never going to post here again lol
March 20th, 2023 at 12:48 PM ^
So poor that he can't afford all the letters needed to make complete sentences. Shame.
Facts
So poor he has to fart to put a scent in his pants.
Not hating on Ghost, just quoting him
As long as JD gets here b4 Tuck, we're good.
You mean GOJG

- Jadyn Davis
- Blake Frazier
- Channing Goodwin
The increased confidence is Ben Roebuck I believe.

Let the commit a palooza begin!

He is 213th nationally in the 247 composite, and the 13th OT in the composite, 36th overall recruit in Texas.
He's the 36th OT and a 3 star in the non composite rankings, in which he'd be lower than 213th national.
The latter is still a take. High upside, average B1G tackle low side.

Kid has a crazy offer list which suggests 247 is way too low on him. Has basically all the big boys except Bama and Georgia
March 20th, 2023 at 11:43 AM ^
While most on this site seem to feel 247 has the most accurate overall ratings - they are not infallible and tend to shift them as they get to see recruits in-person.
Rivals - commonly thought to favor those that attend their camps - has Frazier as #52 overall FWIW.
I will wait to see how rankings shake out after the summer camps season for a better read.
TLDR - great prospect either way and would be a great addition to this class.
A legacy. Must take.
March 20th, 2023 at 12:45 PM ^
Nah, this isn't a complicated one. Just look at where he has offers *with* recruiters attached (which means they are serious):
- Michigan
- LSU
- Clemson
- Florida State
- Oklahoma
- Duke
That's a no brainer recruit, as a take.

Why would any highly regarded OL even consider Michigan?
Could it be the coaching?
Could it be the S&C staff?
Could it be the quality of college life and education in A2?
Could it be the back to back Moore Awards?
Could it be the blocking schemes of the OL?
Could it be the overall offensive philosophy and its resemblance to what is played on Sundays?
Could it be the culture?
Could it be “all of the above”?
March 20th, 2023 at 11:41 AM ^
Yeah but we're not even OLine U. Because we're Edge Defender U. Or was it Running Back U? When you're good as so many things it's tough to keep track. I'm sure Mel Tucker can relate.
March 20th, 2023 at 12:06 PM ^
Punt, it is confusing. I hate to say this, but - could this confusion result in an odd lack of identity?
OL U, RB U, TE U, Edge Defender U… maybe it should just be… “get ready for Sunday U”…
March 20th, 2023 at 11:51 AM ^
Or could it be that his father played for us in the 1990s?
March 20th, 2023 at 12:00 PM ^
IIRC, Sam mentioned that the legacy wasn’t that big with his recruitment. It helped, but they wanted Blake to make his own decisions regardless if it was UM or not.
March 20th, 2023 at 12:24 PM ^
That is probably the correct way to parent...but fuck that! My 3 year-old daughter regularly blurts out "boo Ohio" and my six year-old son threatened to tackle my wife if her 23andme came back to reveal she was from Ohio. We tried to explain that wasn't how it works but he was laser-focused. We live in Georgia and both of my kids were born in Illinois. That's why you start them early, to keep them loyal. Do the right thing Blake!
First time we drove through Ohio as a family my kids got angry and the youngest got scared.
"...legacy wasn’t that big with his recruitment. It helped, but..."
Even if not verbalized, it still matters a lot. Positive experiences from those you know are being legit is...well...positive.

Yes checks all of the boxes. The whole equals the sum of its parts. All of the above sums it up nicely.
March 20th, 2023 at 11:46 AM ^
Feels like this week will have a steady stream of guys coming and pledging, which would be a nice bit of momentum going into spring/summer.

Success of the team starts in the trenches.
Just like at Verdun.
What? Outdated comparison?
March 20th, 2023 at 11:54 AM ^
Good. Load up on as many great offensive linemen as you can, and you'll start to notice that everything else on offense starts falling into place.
Your quarterback has more time to survey the fields, go through his reads and make the throws. Your receivers by extension have more time to get open. Your running back has bigger lanes to run through.
Any offensive linemen recruit should be giving Michigan a good look at this juncture.

It looks like Sam upped his CB confidence for Davis at an 8? I do not believe it was that high before?
March 20th, 2023 at 12:20 PM ^
I think it was a 6 before. Sam has said he won't put in a crystal ball unless he is willing to put in at least a 6 so moving it an 8 seems notable
The word “gut” came up in his write up so…
Seems if he had a gut feel his confidence would be 10
I thought it was 6 before so I’m glad I’m not going crazy. Pretty good to see the confidence coming
