Karmello English Has Committed to Michigan Comment Count

Michigan has added another top-200 player to their 2023 class, this one right out of SEC country.

English decommitted from Auburn in the fall and Michigan made a late push to get over the finish line. It came down to a Bama/Michigan/Kentucky battle where Bama dropped out late when they got a different wide receiver to sign, and Michigan's plan 1B committed to Virginia Tech, which was the biggest clue where this one was heading.

I couldn't get the Hello done in time last night but here are the guru rankings:

English was a top-100 player earlier in the cycle but fell a notch as his height capped out as a senior. He has an invite to the UA All-America game so he has time to make up some ground.

As for the scouting, he is not what you might expect from a guy listed at 5'11"/175. At least, he's way more Jeremy Gallon than AJ Henning. The scouts love his ability to come down with contested catches, his natural feel for exploiting coverages, and his overall game. The knocks are change of direction and overall speed. He's also a quintessential "Football Guy" who led his team to the 7A state championship game last year.

There's no content after the jump. See you at 1PM for the podcast!

This is so awesome.

Maybe I'm in dream land but I see players such as Will Johnson & Karmello English as guys that "can" (not sure if they will) play both sides of the ball - a'la Charles Woodson and each of these players could be so impactful if used creatively - we're talking Heisman again....

I keep seeing that people are knocking his change of direction, but he runs good routes and has very solid acceleration to the point where it's hard to notice
