Jerry Kill is a class act and tough as nails. Any role, no matter how small, would be tremendous and deserved. A plus for him would be living near a world-class medical facility.
As for the Gophers, I think they were great to Kill. Its hard when the previous coach is lurking around. Difficult for the replaced coach and the incoming coach. So I can see why he's not in the athletic department in Minnesota.
If I'm a player in HS, do I want to be coached by a guy who is going to take my team on a vacation over spring break where: We'll practice some, learn a lot, go to the beach, watch spring training, and be the topic of national conversations OR a guy named Jimbo who thinks I should sit in my dorm or go home to Jersey?
I love how Downing is always making sure Racine gets plenty of shots and doesn't get complacent. When he whiffs at the blueline and allows a 1-0 chance, he is clearly trying to get Racine involved in the defense. It's actually brilliant.
Apparently they don't understand the Twitter Machine. Bumpkins just don't get it. You're the ones being "Cordially" invited. Being tweeted @ or mentioned in a tweet doesn't infer an endorsement or affiliation. In my America, you can tweet at whomever you want...except, obviously, croots... don't be that guy.
Speaking of not recruiting two QB's, remember when Lloyd Carr told Drew Henson if he commited as a Junior, he would not recruit another QB after him? How'd that go?
^^^This^^^ The hype train and rankings mean very little to the sane, adult, fan...but when you're a Senior in High School, and you see UM with a guy with this much hype, you take notice.
The Downing analysis is spot on! This is 2 years in the making, and hopefully it continues. He's been the most frustrating and undisciplined player I've seen. When he plays on the edge, he is tremendous. When he crosses the line he really crosses it, usually needlessly.
I doubt they will miss a beat. The team is full of intelligence and athleticism on defense, so learning or executing scheme won't be an issue. Attrition at LB or filling some specialized roles could be difficult, but I bet Brown will be able to adapt his system based on the available talent. Also, guys like Mattison will provide continuity during the transition from Durkin.
Dress like this guy. They love this li'l guy, and he is dressed in colors similar to maize and blue. At the horn scream "GAME! Blouses..." and then brag that you plan to cleanse yourself in the waters of Lake Minnetonka.
Golic: "My sons, blah blah Cleveland, ugh, Eagles.
Greenie: "When covered Michael Jordan's bulls, I was in the locker room alot, I mean alot, (insert completely irrelovent story here, which somehow references the Jets, Knicks, Yankees, El Duque, Mantle, Jeter, and a stain on Golic's shirt)
He just didn't want to play school, guys. And, found out he couldn't major in Potato in AA.

Its obvious, have an assistant coach pose as a player and infiltrate the practice.
Looks like Brown is the "Family Man" and Smith is the "Lone Wolf".
Harbs: "You two, my office..."
Smith: "Why is he such a hardcase?"
Brown: (chews on a Tums) "Im getting too old for this $h*t"

Hallelujah!
No, no, that's BYU and Utah that recruit on religious missions.

Was that Onwenu who pancaked a kid in pass protection? Not stellar execution on the video, but the commitment videos were a good idea.
Greenie: "Blah, blah, Jets, hahaha, Yankees."
Golic: 'Blah, blah, Irish, gurgle, ugh, my brother"
Greenie: "Jeter, (insert $100 word), Northwestern, blah, tennis."

This is our best current hybrid option.
