In all fairness... The players involved are known, but no media outlet can comment about it.
Didn't they play in the

Didn't they play in the national championship like 5 years ago?

Or Rivals, or Scout.  ESPN is

Or Rivals, or Scout.  ESPN is the only major "service" that doesn't have him as the top player in the state.

He actually committed to MSU

He actually committed to MSU his soph. year, he just didn't have an offer at that time.

UW's always been like this.

UW's always been like this.  A few years ago they had a backup RB that could only play in home games IIRC because the school president barred him from leaving the state while he was under indictment for a felony.

In all fairness, Izzo was

In all fairness, Izzo was probably referring to Nix leaving.  Nix has tried to transfer 2-3 times this past year, and has been talked out of it, but I'm guessing Izzo figured eventually he'd just get tired of it all and leave.  As for Sherman, there was a rumor about him being homesick and transferring last year too, it wouldn't surprise me if he decided that getting a few minutes a game wasn't worth it and ends up transferring to Dayton or someplace closer to home.

I'd imagine they go after

I'd imagine they go after Gary Harris now.

Carter was actually the #9

Carter was actually the #9 contender when he went away.  The movie/song takes quite a few liberties.

The last time Michigan beat

The last time Michigan beat MSU was on a Thursday night...

Kelly kicked Masoli off but

Kelly kicked Masoli off but let LaMichael James, who beat his girlfriend, back on the team with only a suspension from NM.

He had Nichol 3rd team

He had Nichol 3rd team All-B10.  Its not like he was predicting him to be OPOY.

2nd paragraph, ”Details

2nd paragraph, ”Details of Friday's arrest were not immediately available.”

They probably would have been

They probably would have been 6-6 still.  They dropped OSU (sure loss) and Indiana (near guarentee win), and gained Minnesota (who they lost to) and Illinois (who they beat).

Cousins was actually a

Cousins was actually a Dantonio recruit.  Nichol decommitted for Oklahoma before Dantonio was hired, and Dantonio actually ended up taking Cousins along with Nick Foles, who's doing pretty well for himself at Arizona.

He got arrested the summer

He got arrested the summer after his freshman year IIRC for resisting arrest or something minor, however his little crime spree came after leaving school.

Might want to check that link

Might want to check that link again, it says that Stuart Dunnings II is dead, but is survived by his son, Stuart Dunnings III, who is Ingham County's Prosecuting Attorney.

While several people involved

While several people involved in the brawl were non-contributors, three of the players were starters, including Wilson, who was a three year starter.  Another of the players (Johnson) wasn't a starter, but definitely could have made the starting lineup the next year, and at the very least would have been in the two deeps.  All of the other guys who transferred either announced they were transferring before, or were rumored to be considering transferring, and being suspended from the team indefinitely probably went a ways in helping make their decision.

With Stonum, he was suspended for a game, and from what I've heard, failed on numerous counts in his probation.  Its one thing to miss a drug test, but when you demonstrate a continued disregard for your probation, then thats a problem.

As for the Hart thing, Dantonio overreacted, but Hart should have shut up.  That wasn't the first time, nor was it the last that Hart was talking crap to an opponent in the media.  Also, he was 21, he should have known better.  Its not like he was some 16 year old, he knew what he was doing was wrong, but he still acted like a fool.

He's Eric Campbell, former WR

He's Eric Campbell, former WR coach at UM under LC, and Iowa's primary Michigan recruiter.  Was let go (IIRC at least) when RR came in along with pretty much the rest of the coaching staff aside from Jackson.

Graham went to Crockett.

Graham went to Crockett.

Billy Donovan actually has

Billy Donovan actually has recruited pretty well since his brief stint as the Orlando coach.  He's gotten at least a 5* a year, except 2008, when he got 4 4*s.  Also, Donovan actually accepted the Orlando job, Izzo never did, and he did pretty much the same thing about 10 years ago after he won the championship (accepted the Hawks job, and backed out of it before it was made public), and it hasn't affected his standing.  I think a better comparison might be Urban Meyer, and we'll see how both of their careers turn out.

My bad, studying for a

My bad, studying for a history test, and posting generally doing work well together.

Isn't Bama still on

Isn't Bama still on prohibation?

Wisconsin was pretty bad that

Wisconsin was pretty bad that year, IIRC they had a losing record in the Big Ten.

He didn't call anyone else

He didn't call anyone else "little brother," but he was talking smack to OSU after he lost to OSU (and went 0-4), and didn't he get into an argument with Harbaugh?  I don't see how anyone couldn't respect Hart as a player, but he needs to learn when to keep his mouth shut and be more like Long or Henne.

Dantonio shouldn't have

Dantonio shouldn't have responded to him, but Hart shouldn't have said it.  He was 21 at the time, and should have known better.  Don't forget that that wasn't an isolated incident, and some of the teams he was talking trash about he went winless against in his career.

Has Schilling even been Has Schilling even been All-Big Ten Second team?
Rogers was at the top of Rogers was at the top of pretty much everybody's draft board too. There were enough warning signs for both MW and Rogers that the Lions should have passed on both of them.
IIRC, he's a better prospect IIRC, he's a better prospect in a 3-4 and he's injury prone. I still think that STL takes Bradford. This class is deep in DTs, and the Rams still don't have a QB.
MSU had an OG in 2007 that MSU had an OG in 2007 that was diagnosed with cancer a month or two before he was supposed to enroll. He's just now getting in football shape. Hope Coleman can overcome the cancer, and maybe get a chance to play.
Izzo never badmouthed a kid Izzo never badmouthed a kid in his book, got a fan thrown out of a game or compared his team to the Haitian earthquake. Roy has done all of those things in the past year.
Dantonio didn't recruit Dantonio didn't recruit Thomas, but he actually utilized him which JLS failed to do (Thomas' most notable achievement before MD came was blocking a punt against NW). Also, he recruits the positions which don't have depth. In 2007 and 2008, they took 6 WR (along with 3 TEs), and had enough talent that the position was no longer a huge priority compared to RB, which with Ringer leaving, and the exodus of every RB on the roster aside from Baker and Caper necessitated the need for a little more depth at the position. Last year, they led the Big Ten in passing yards with receivers recruited by Dantonio.
MSU had the most passing MSU had the most passing yards and receiving TDs in the conference last year (pretty sure they did in 2007 as well).
RR beat out MSU for a guy RR beat out MSU for a guy from Ren when he was at WVU. Carr got guys from Ren too when MSU wasn't even pursuing them because they knew it'd be pointless.
Oren Wilson was a 3 year Oren Wilson was a 3 year starter going into this year.
IIRC, he was arrested for a IIRC, he was arrested for a couple of minor things in HS and sold drugs (pot?). Pretty sure he confessed to that while he was being interrogated for the cocaine thing.
His dad was the HC at Minny actually FWIW Spartan nation doesn't sound incredibly thrilled with the hire, but he was a GA at MSU when Dantonio was there under Saban, so they have worked together, and Enos' resume wasn't much better before Dantonio hired him initially.
Howard hasn't played in almost a decade.* nm
There was an incident or two He got suspended from a game (which Stevenson ended up losing) for turning his iPod on and not listening to the coach or something like that. There might have been another incident, not sure.
Howard MSU and OSU would have offered him if he had the academics, IIRC, he said something about trying to transfer to a bigger school once it was certain that he'd be able to do so, which drew some ire from fan(s) of the MAC schools recruiting him.
... Sure it isn't based off of HS stats, and not college potential? Gholston and Bullough had huge years, and thats the only way I can see Langford being in the top 5.
Are You Counting DSU in that 12 ppg more stat? This year's team is better (would be hard not to be), but that really isn't saying much. The defense is still very porous, and the offense has regressed significantly in recent weeks.
Bullough His grandfather on his mother's side along with a couple of his uncles played for ND, while basically all of his father's side played for MSU. One of his uncles is also the defensive coordinator at UCLA.
Hill Didn't he average like 10 yards a carry before he was injured?
