You're probably referring to the Victors Waltz. My first year in band, 2010, we got the music for it but never played it. After that year, they didn't even hand out the music anymore. I got the feeling it had been effectively phased out before i got there and that the band/directors felt it wasn't really liked anymore.
For as much as people tended to complain about everything we ever did, the fact that I never heard any complaining about that tells me they were probably right.

You can't design your whole defense around undeveloped linebackers. Certainly not ones you didn't recruit, train or ask for. And even if you could, why would you when they'll be gone in a year? It doesn't make a defense more efficient. It'd probably make it worse.

I wanted to be more mad, but the fact is, his time at Michigan is not what made him able to be a head coach. He was probably very close to having opportunities like this when he left Florida. He has earned a shot at a head coaching gig. Yeah I wish he would stay, but showing that we can move staff up and out will ultimately be better for our program than any one coordinator.

The way we were out-coached and outplayed today gives me zero faith we can win in columbus. Maybe east lasing, because we obviously played them very close even with the best quarterback they will probably ever have. But i can't imagine waking into columbus and winning. I would so love to be wrong.

I believe it's called Victors Valiant. I like it. It's not too far from other things we've done. M Fanfare is just a collection of chopped up pieces of the victors and Yellow and Blue being played over different progressions, so this really isn't all too different.
Plus, I don't think it's comparable to the Hail and Unite fiasco because:
hail and unite hasn't even been commissioned as far as i know. We have no idea how that might sound
Victors Valiant isn't supposed to be any sort of "companion" piece to The Victors, it's just filler. In other words, in my view, VV isn't supposed to be anything on its own. It's just a fresher way to hear The Victors.
