Not comparable at all. When you started your comparison, I thought you we're going to say JJ would be in a similar spot as Eli Manning, a first round pick sitting on the bench behind an established veteran. A stretch to compare Daniel Jones and Kurt Warner, but at least an apples to apples situation. Suggesting that JJ will struggle with the NY media market because an aged super bowl champion brought in to chaperone a top draft pick didn't play more than one season however is simply not apt.
BTW - Warner started the season 5-2 and was only benched because of a terrible fumbling problem (I think he had an issue with his thumb) and because they wanted Eli to get at least a little seasoning in his first year.
I realize that there are much larger issues to complain about, but what the heck is wrong with Erick All? Is it just me or does he seem to have some of the worst hands ever? They keep trying to force feed him and its accomplishing nothing.
I worked at Mr. Spots from 1991-1994. There were only 2 sauces when I started, mild and hot. People kept complaining they weren't hot enough, so Keith (one of the co-owners) invented the suicide sauce to mess with people. This was waaay before the days of ghost peppers and what not. Also, funny how many sorority girls ordered the cheese fries and a diet coke.
We had delivery all the way back then too. I was a driver and since most students were poor, the tips were not exactly outstanding. The athletes were especially bad. I often received exact change.
However, 2nd semester of his sophomore year when people were speculating whether or not he would turn pro, Chris Webber (who was living out by the Briarwood Mall) gave me a $100 tip. Seemed like a pretty good indicator which way he was leaning . . .
But that is exactly what's already happening, only under the table now. Ever wonder what causes those last minute flips/defections in football or why a coach as great as Beilein doesn't get more blue chip point guards? At least under the Olympic model we'd be on even footing. We're not exaclty one of the little sisters of the poor . . .
Do we know why Warinner left OSU in the first place? It's not like he was promoted to be a HC or OC. Why a seemingly lateral move to Minnesota, and then why only 1 year there for another lateral move (albeit to a much better program) to us?
