And yes, it's fucking lovely

I just want the most capable guy to play

If that's a non-injured Speight or JOK, then so be it. An injured QB can get jumpy in there and start making some really ill adivised throws and that CAN'T happen vs that OSU secondary.

I have zero doubt that he can throw right now

The question is - How injured is his non throwing shoulder? If it's as bad as the hits made it look like it may be, he won't play. Either way, Harbaugh isn't going to let any info slip out that hasn't been pre approved by him personally.

I think OSU will play 7-8 in the box most of the game

They seem to think that their secondary is pretty good and Schiano loves man coverage on the outside with a roaming FS over the top.

Gamesmanship by Harbaugh

Imo.

That's also what I was thinking while reading his excuse

-- This guy has no concept of the whole "body of work" idea that founds the backbone of intelligent ranking systems.--

Mediocracy2 on idiot from SC that shouldn't have an AP vote due to ignorance.

If that's the case

How in the hell does he have Bama at #1??? They were playing fucking Chattanooga for shit's sake. This guy is full of shit, he's just filling out his rankings like this for attention and it's working.

I still wish Peppers would have been allowed to master

one (maybe two) positions. That likely would have allowed him to have an even bigger impact than he already does. The kid is so damn talented.

A WW2 vet and a great coach

for a program that's steeped in tradition (albeit one that UM fans hate). The man is an icon, just like Bo, and to attempt to strip him of that legacy because of a few emotional outbursts is kind of petty.

* That last sentence was in response to a comment above, not directed at you RGard.

That truly is a great story

Making memories like that is what it's all about. Sounds like something that would have happened to me in my college days.

I assume

you're reffering to the ol' "Cause I couldn't go for three" line?

Damn right

In particular, i'm sooo sick of that stupid ass Geico commercial that features some fake ass football players talking insurance in the seconds before the snap. Fuck that commercial

No

You probably didn't. I started working summer at a local farm bailing straw when I was 12. What did you do?

Edit - don't try to say that you fixed granny's computer when you were 10 because that bullshit don't count.

Actually I do

I usually have Saturday and Sunday off so I can throw dick in the comfy confines of my study. I like to call myself Skankhunt43 (as to not rip off the great Gerald Brovloski). /s

Wish I had the time to aimlessly patrol the internet

looking for obscure facts and stats. Sadly, I have a job (as most grown ups do).

It's likely going to require a few lucky breaks

to go our way in order to win. Just being realistic. A few timely TO's and not letting O'Korn/Speight throw into the teeth of the OSU secondary because I think they've proven that they will pick it off given the slightest of chances.

I'm confused

Feels like I missed something. Did someone suggest that M should attempt to injure opposing players?

I don't know

But he took a couple serious shots to that shoulder... Member?

Surely Harbaugh has been working this game all season

Conversely, so has Meyer. So that kind of cancels each other out, don't it?

Agree

A QB that's less than 100% and hurting is a hit away from being out of the game anyway. Then, a cold O'Korn has to come into The Game in front of the most hostile crowd that he's ever witnessed in his entire life. This doesn't sound  ideal to me.

I don't know man

Wisconsin has a really good defense. While not as good as ours, still very good. On the flip side - M has yet to see a defense as good as OSU's (i hate that)

The last few weeks

OSU has scored something like 63, 63 and 16/17 whatever they scored yesterday. As i've said all along - It comes down to which OSU team shows up next Saturday... The one that beat Oklahoma, Nebraska etc, or the one that struggled vs PSU, Wiscy, NW etc. We can beat one of the versions but the other may be the best team in college football. Weird shit going on with them.

If feels nice

But it is actually usual ESPN shit... Cherry picked stats and incomplete potential draft picks. They're such chodes but it's nice when they're skewing shit in our favor for a featured article. Makes me not want to bitch when they do if for other teams now.

I don't think that graphic is taking into account

All of the underclassmen that will surely declare for the draft... For example, it looks as if 3 of OSU's defensive backs will likely be first round picks but aren't even listed.

Of course

you had to use an Urban Meyer coached team as an example... Not lending alot of confidence there. lol

So, the OL having problems with pass pro against Indiana

made you feel better? Shit, that means that not only is JOK not very good but the OL may be eaten alive by the OSU front 7. Fuck that man. Keep that to yourself. /s

If O'Korn was as slippery a runner as Barrett

I may share your optimism about JOK. We have enough good players elsewhere, let's not pretend that O'Korn is > Barrett.

The Pac12 is junk, as usual

Colorado is pretty good, but they don't have near the talent and athletic prowess that OSU does.

As i've said here before

On the road, at night in a conference matchup - Weird shit tends to happen. That's why I was skeptical of writing of OSU after theat PSU/blocked FG debacle (a game in which they largely outperformed PSU in the box score and should have easily won). And that's the same reason we didn't write off M after the bullshit Iowa game. Weird shit happens on the road at night during conference play, especially when you're a top team and everyone is playing you like it's their fucking superbowl.

Every team they've played this year has loaded up at the LOS

Hopefully we fare better than most other have. They have alot of weapons that have been underutilzed all seaon long (conspicously convenient).

True

While our overall defense appears to be better, I would say that their secondary overall is actually better than ours (CB and safeties). I think some people are overlooking that when considering strengths vs weaknesses of each team.

Bingo

That's exactly why the transitive theory is really not applicable to college football.

Samuel appears to be the x factor

How well our defense can mitigate him will be crucial. He's going to get his yardage, but how much and how often will be the ultimate deciding factor.

What they've been doing all year has worked

against (mostly) sub par competition. I'm anxious to see how the offense responds after last weekends debacle. I've had the last 3 days off work and have been watching a shitload of prior games from this season out of sheer boredom. A few things to note - Wisconsin has a well coached defense (which we saw) and Indiana's defense has gotten much better as the season wore on (still not very good though), but OSU's defense is much faster and more talented than anything we've seen to this year to date. I skipped through several of their games and what really pops out (other than the Samuel kid on offense) is the overall speed on the defensive side of the ball. I hope our boys are getting their conditioning in because they're going to need it on the 26th. I'm anxious to see what O'Korn can do.

This Indiana game

feels like it could me a trap game for us. Coming off of a tough road loss in which we lost our starting QB and OSU looms in the near future. This could be my constant paranoia creeping in, but the more I think about it this upcoming game the hallmarks of a classic trap game. There is a shit load of hype surrounding the M/OSU game and with access to the interwebz there's no way the players can block ALL of it out.

Peppers on Samuel would probably turn out really bad for us

Need a pure cover guy on him... Let Peppers babysit JT.

The main problem that I forsee

is the fact that OSU's secondary is light years better than Iowa's... I've been watching some previous games from this season and the overall speed of their defense is what stands out to me. O'Korn will have to play the game of his life which is fine, because Wilton would have had to play the game of his life as well.

Just seems like it wouldn't be good to play a less than 100%

Speight vs OSU. If he were somehow able to talk his way on the field, how long until he takes a lick that complicates the original injury??? Harbaugh may be quirky, but he's not stupid.

From what I can tell

Akers is going to be the better back at the college level and it's not even close.

Yesterday

I read that 3 of the 4 OSU secondary starters are likely first round draft picks... WTF? That tells me that O'Korn isn't going to completing deep balls on those guys. The best chance at moving the ball against them is getting Butt on crossing routes toward the sideline. Their outside corners are too good to consistently throw against and their fucking safety is probably the best in the country.

All top tier teams play sub par stretches of football

OSU - NW and PSU

UM - MSU and Iowa

Going into Columbus for a heated rivalry game between two top 5 teams. All of the fancystats and predictive metrics can basically be thrown out for a game like that.

Oh yeeeeaaaah

I member now!

True

I don't think anyone has came close to "shredding" OSU's defense this year... Imo, that defense is the true strength of their team (which sounds weird).

For some reason

this year's OSU team seems to be better than last years. I know they had all of those draft picks on the team in '15, but it seems like they may actually have more talent overall this season. The offense doesn't impress me all that much, but the defense (especially the secondary) looks to be a force.

I don't agree

OSU's defense looks to be the best they've fielded in many, many years. They have an all purpose receiver/RB named Samuel who looks to be pretty damn good too.

I think most would agree that OSU and Alabama

are elite teams.

Yeah

He's our C. Jones as long as he can throw the ball 80 yards flat footed... That would probably work out really well for us

Peppers is not a generational type player in the secondary

you do know that, right?

Promise a costly yet ineffective wall

Only to later realize that the wall is not a realistic option, so you build a chain link fence "with barbed wire" for extra securtiy!
