Machiavellian Izzo: Listen, you've had a great/OK career at this institution. Alas, your substitute is fundamentally better than you in ways that actually win games. My medical staff has deemed you INJURED!
lol, what i love about this uni and imo the fab five maize jerseys is they have this satin-shiny look that looks dope on the camera. this year's blue seems to have the same effect with the lettering
shep is incredible at pbp for um basketball (a difficult medium) - i sometimes prefer to follow games on radio rather than tv believe it or not -- love the homer excitement -- RING IT UP!!!
i feel as though davis might have been recruited solely to face the sparty bigs and similar teams that want to play bully ball. fleet footed he is not, but, we have seen previous michigan teams that have had no answer for physical teams, like state.
sometimes you just need someone to come in and make physical fouls. if you can set picks, get offensive boards, you will be a valuable sub in certain games.
im just not into free advertising for a national fast food chain that has political views i dont agree with. just saying, if i see a mcdonalds or burger king or whatever love fest on this site, i will make a deflating post. make your own fried chicken!
Terry mills, the national champ with pro experience, probably got the job through his resume. that being said, he seems to sincerely care about what's happening on the court. I think sometimes mills' laconic delivery contrasts harshly with shep's rapid fire delivery but I think ultimately works if only because they are two rooting fans doing the job of announcing. go blue
oh man. I have listened to the majority of um games on the radio and have really enjoyed Shep and Mills. they bring a great energy to the broadcast. sadly, watched that game on TV and I think I would have preferred to experience it this way haha
impressive that a lot of these players are successful in the pros. I think this is why beilein finds success bc he knows a talented player regardless of star rating. and the five stars he keys in on are the real deal for the most part.
Knowing he'd be asked this question, I was hoping he'd be able to say he talked to Kaepernick about it. Guys like Calipari make a point to stay connected w/ their former players. And I think it helps their profile in the eyes of recruits. Then again, dude's probably busy.
great passer, great teammate, that could be the breakout moment for him. i hope we can look at him now as a solid contributor to the team going forward.
call me crazy but i feel like lavall jordan could be a recruiting dynamo waiting in the wings. He's young, his tweets motivate the heck outta me. i imagine he would run something similar to what beilein runs/he's been assisting long enough to gain a strong grasp of the offense, anyway. and maybe, he could up the average star rating of our recruits....
he's been showing flashes of being able to rebound in the last few games. he's clearly a plus passer...i would love to see him have the light turn on during the big ten season.
beilein was ahead of this curve (see: pittsnogle) but youre starting to see the de mode centers in the nba as essentially bigs with wing man skill (see: porzingis and draymond). wagner has game very similar to porzingis who is all of a sudden birthing optimism for the knicks. similarly, i look at umich as a seriously dangerous team if wagner continues to progress by march. you're dealing with a lineup of five scorers who can pass it and interchange on the court--thus returning 'the beauty' to beilein's patented motion offense.
i would say all of the 5's are not good defensively and likely to give up points or a foul anytime they have to defend one on one. the difference with wagner is he stays active and can at times be more of a positive force on the court--with his offense and active feet drawing charges--than a liability.
for me, his best attribute is his mentality. he's probably the most tenacious player on the team.
caris is the guy and i would love seeing him play the point position to spell walton at times just to have length all over the court.
duncan robinson needs to to be in the top tier of minutes. he's making the right cuts and moving the offense well and beilein's offense only REALLY works when you have dead eye open three shooting---this dude. his defense is no more atrocious than dawkins' at this point.
i think the five should split minutes evenly between doyle-wagner-wilson till wagner establishes himself. not ready to give up on wilson yet.
irvin needs big minutes and he needs to draw fouls by getting in the paint somehow. he's brawny.
walton-levert-robinson-irvin-doyle
non-five subs in order of minutes earned: dawkins, chatman, rahkman
spike needs to get healthy, than he'll leapfrog rahkman.
strong post presence and able drivers could yield a high-frustration quotient. that's my number one advanced metric affecting my game enjoyment rating.
my other favorite advanced metric is when michigan scores more three-pointers, we win!
i need my five to box out or i start yelling at electronic devices.
i think doyle needs one more year of being on a short leash as far as mental mistakes--particularly boxing out.
not boxing out is such an emotional nut punch for the whole team.
bielfeldt gets this and plants his danged calves into the ground with some conviction! And i thought he was good as far as ripping 50/50 rebounds down.

now this is my kind of weekend entertainment:
1 derrick walton 3
2 maar 3
3 caris levert 4
4 isaiah livers 2
5 jon teske 3
that's a 5-out offense with good length/defense.
cut down the nets!
*cough* big ten title game *cough*

This is actually not funny, and a lazy "joke". Also, it speaks poorly on our fan base. Mods should delete this trash.

hipster beilein - lol

i hope he stays on
offensive line was a big disappointment. tackles cant pass protect. run plays are futile.

They are dominating like the 2012-13 squad. It seems like they are somewhat better, whether that actually comes to fruition, who knows?
The team was underrated going into the season and, not surprisingly, the players' draft stock has been similarly underrated.
Matthews was projected as a mid-2nd rounder--too low considering what he has shown he can do.
So, is it assumed Brazdeikis will go higher than Matthews at this point? I think they are both 1st rounders.

i do respect the institute of church. however, what the corporate office of chick-fil-a defines as 'christian' i dont think i am down with.
if you…
fuck chick-fil-a.
if you want bible-thumping homophobes to make chicken for you on the weekends then go to church.
And gosh darn it, people like him!
Evans is the real deal, but Smith was hurt in first or second quarter. They are very different backs and both will get the rock.
'thinks the game' i like it. im gonna use that

What Vincent Smith is doing with #EATING is wonderful. Go Blue!

he sure is but rahk's got a great vertical and a tough demeanor, given the opportunity, im hoping he can provide the same capability
levert needs to see minutes as the point guard
ive never heard but really like the expression 'baby's dream'
gosh dang i like his style
we're gonna need walton to score distribute and get some steals and rebounds if mich wins

i also love wilson's no-nonsense demeanor on the field. he remains straight-faced on big plays in a world of defensive back hyperbole.
beilfeldt could be held accountable to box out. when you don't box out, you are gonna have a bad time.
