I always enjoy reading about other teams/conferences, especially when it is even-handed. I am pleasantly surprised to see such a large number of compelling OOC games for SEC West:
Alabama-USC
Ole Miss-Florida State
Arkansas-TCU
Texas AM-UCLA
LSU-Wisconsin
Auburn - Clemson
Especially surprising since USC may be (potentially) the weakest of that bunch. I haven't seen future schedules, but I hope that this becomes the norm.
The odds are low, but I hope that he at least gets a look from whoever may be making the choice. He would be one of the top candidates if I held world-destroying AD powers.
You make some good points that he doesn't have a lot of ties in the Midwest, but he has had just as much (if not arguably more) success than Mullen at Mississippi State. The odds on him coming may be low, but we are in full-on dreaming mode anyway, right?
...and this is what I remember most. The noise of the Michigan fans after the game was over. All you could hear was the chant and the cowbell. Glorious.
I grew up ten miles from South Bend, so beating them always means something more to me. Let's send them out on the right note.

Sam Vines is up there, as is DEATH, as Brian notes. But my soft spot will reside with the Librarian for all time. Ook.

I may have drank all the booze in the house last Fall. I look forward to a more sober Autumn this time around.
I'm excited about both Green and Smith (OL caveat). I think they started to show something in the OSU game.
