I lived in Ann Arbor for 10 years and now I live in Detroit proper...I wouldn't move back. Detroit is a great city, with down to earth people, people don't drive as frustratingly slow as A2, and you are surrounded by people that heroically stuck with a city through incredibly hard times. Good people in Detroit.
Also, I have three daughters all school age. We found a fantastic school (Charlotte Mason) right in the city that I would send them to if we lived in Ann Arbor. It's private, but tuition is cheap and they are generous with scholarships.
Live in the city you work! Every now and then I decide, last minute, with my oldest to go get tickets for the Wings, Pistons or Tigers, 10 minutes from my house, for whatever is the cheapest. And right now this is a city that is constantly growing and an exciting place to live.
Oh man, and it was a horrible last show. He was interviewing Jake Gyllenhaal and made a comment about how Jake loves poker and he corrected Cowherd: "you have me confused with every other actor in Hollywood." Colin then kept saying how good looking he was and apologized to him...so bad it was funny
So, most of you think that one punch, a serious mistake of one, but one punch is enough to make the kid miss out on a chance to play for Michigan? I disagree. Suspend him for a while, make him work to get back on the team, but teach the kid, don't send him packing for one mistake. That's not like Hoke...he wants to teach these kids how to be men...consquences and second chances is how you do that.
Despite what the NCAA says, Athletics are about money; providing more revenue for the other sports in order to provide a more well-rounded college experience and for funding academics. Does anyone have a problem with Dave Brandon making money in order to fund getting a new field for lacrosse that can't possibly make enough money on their own to do it? Does anyone have a problem with a portion of the money that Dave Brandon's policy's make going towards academic funding? So please stop whining about Dave Brandon trying to do his job by trying to make more money.
Also, Uniformz! are cool to those of us who aren't trying to become more crochety and using TRADISHION! as an excuse.
How many of us were that angry that the band wasn't going to get to go to Dallas? I for one come to watch the football team.
Football ticket sales have everything to do with Rich Rod to Hoke loses.
So, if you want to say Brandon isn't making enough money, so be it! But all the other arguments are so tired. This is a GREAT thread.
Time for Wilcher to either teach this kid or sit him for the season. I don't disagree about Dantonio, but he is Wilcher's quarterback right now and I have a feeling he is going to being stepping more directly into this kid's life.
I'm going and taking my 4 year old daughter. She needs to see the Big House but will have little interest in the game itself. Anyone know if we can bring in food to the game? I've gotta make this fun for her.
An incredible story and one of the remnants that we can be proud of from the years that Rich Rod was here. Stuff like this feels like an undefeated season to me. Hoping when all hope is lost..Brock's faith in God is admirable. It's great to be a Michigan Wolverine.
I second that...the line looks great. Huge holes for the running backs. I like Bentley's jumping of routes by he also looked very Aaron Berry-ish when he got burned on a couple of routes at the beginning of the game.
Speaking of which, can someone tell me why we were sad to lose Berry? He looked horrible against the Saints in the playoffs.
Bacon is signing books at Nicola's Bookstore tonight (Ann Arbor's west side). I just went there last week and they had a lot of copies left (Bacon also said on WTKA this morning that they still had plenty of copies). I can't go tonight but figure I'd share the wealth
