Thanks for taking my question, Alex. I hope I didn't come off as too down on Jadyn -- I certainly think his cerebral + gamer attributes are really valuable and should translate to the next level. My question speaks to a broader inquiry about what traits (and positions) seem more-or-less invariant to the risers-rising/fallers-falling axiom.

One of the blog's axioms of recruiting is that risers don't rise enough and fallers don't fall enough. With that as given, how concerning is Jadyn Davis's decline in the recruiting rankings?

Do we think this principle applies less or more to QBs, whose camp performances and measurables are seemingly picked apart more than other positions (leading to Drew Allar-types winding up as five stars)?

It goes without saying that the staff loves Jadyn, but should we be revising down our expectations for the probability of him hitting an elite ceiling?

My freshman year at Michigan…

My freshman year at Michigan was 2014, the final season of the Hoke regime. I've always loved sports, but never took the college game that seriously. That said, I knew I'd end up obsessed with Michigan football while I was here -- "football school" and all that. That season objectively sucked ass. Shane Morris debacle. Dave Brandon. Two Cokes. Bleh. I didn't pay that close attention beyond being hammered at the games; what was the point? We were miserable and no fun to follow.

MGoBlog changed everything for me. I happened upon this janky-looking site during the Harbaugh search -- who didn't want to read about our school landing a top-five coach? It was like striking oil. I found myself checking the site a few times a day to get the scoop. I became the source of all coaching-search news among my friends. I felt equal parts member of a secret society and a massive community of fans, just from reading this site.

I was hooked. I've stayed hooked. I devour everything y'all churn out with semi-religious fervor. I've always said one of the best things about being a Michigan fan is MGoBlog -- we have the best analysis and writing about our teams of any fanbase. Full stop. Perfectly captures the zeitgeist. Improves the quality of our discourse. Plays to our desire to think deeply and critically about something we do for fun. We get Zach Lowe level analysis for free. Seemingly endless content. It's fucking mesmerizing.

Now I'm a Ph.D student, isolated as all hell, trying to stay sane during this pandemic. I can't overstate how much this site has done to keep me feeling connected to the stuff I loved from the before-times. I really can't imagine not having this website in my life. I know a lot of people who feel the exact same way.

It's obvious that it takes a village to run this site, and everyone working here deserves to be showered with praise. But it starts and ends with Brian.

Thank you, Brian. We love you, man.

ChessNetwork

I've never watched a match live, though I'm sure there must be a way to do so. I would, however, recommend checking out ChessNetwork on YouTube. He usually picks a couple interesting games from major tournaments and analyzes them -- it's quite educational and, in my opinion, wildly entertaining. He broke down a lot of games from last month's Candidates Tournament that I bet you'd enjoy.

This is awesome

This is a piece to be proud of, Seth. Really outstanding work! Totally encapsulates my feelings about this team and this season.

I ran into him at the union a couple months ago and we chatted for a bit -- it's a leg thing, but I can't recall if it was ankle or knee. Wish I could be more specific.

Jutson Jakskin

Can't believe I was 10 points from 1st last year! Just what I get for trusting Duke to make it past the first weekend...

What happened to Barrett?

It's *unbelievable* how he can be so accurate against Penn State and throw FOUR picks today. Have to wonder how he'll be remembered by their fanbase.

Classmate

We were in the same discussion section last semester. Pretty quiet, but seemed like a cool guy. I code election results for an archive UM maintains and was able to show him results from Ghana's most recent election -- his face lit up when he found his village in the excel file. Cool moment we got to share. Never had any indication he was so talented! Hope he has the chance to play in Europe one day.

Great win today for Everton

Goodison was rocking today. Loved seeing Rooney head it home.

At a very basic level, we can all agree: Blue > Red.

Jourdan Lewis

JD, no question. I'm generally pretty optimistic about Long and Hill too, but having an elite, shutdown corner on one side would alleviate a lot of pressure from what projects to be a young secondary.

My only real question -- are those back numbers higher up than normal? I wonder if last names will be above or below. They might even scrap them. Regardless, I can't wait pick up #5 in white.
