This board in general has become so toxic since last year. I love reading all the doomsday comments. Gives me a good comic relief after a stressful week at work. The infestation of a few trolls making 5 or 6 accounts and spreading chaos has cause a handful of once good posters to become overly pessimistic about Michigan football. Pretty sad tbh. Feeble minded individuals are easy pickings for the trolls though.
I live on the west side of the state. It seems like people on the east side tend to have a more pessimistic oulook on the season. Many family, friends and people I've come to meet at events/bars on the west side are much more optimistic and understanding of the 1 loss than peeps I've met on the east side. Sure, the Notre Dame game was a bit disappointing but what else would you expect from a new quarterback learning the system. Remember the Utah game a few years ago? That loss felt quite similar to the Notre Dame one.
The criticism for Harbaugh and his vanilla play calling is ridiculous. Please go back and watch the first few games of 15. Rudock was still learning the system and the play calling was very vanilla. This is standard procedure for a new quarterback. I hope we continue to be vanilla with our play calling and add only a few new looks up until the MSU game. No reason to get cute before then.
Shea has been fun to watch and seems to be gaining confidence as the season progresses. If the oline can continue to improve pass blocking and give Shea some extra time in the pocket we will be a threat to win the big ten. It feels like he's a game or 2 away from having a stat stuffer performance.
Looking ahead... Not really concerned with Wisconsin or MSU. They both have glaring weaknesses. We have a good chance of winning all of our games up to the Penn State game. If we can contain Mc Shurley Temple then we should be able to win that game at home. It would setup for another historic game vs OSU. It's really the only game I'm not confident in. A 10-2 season heading into a bowl game was what I was thinking from the beginning. Would be a good season if holds true. Go Blue!
