Michigan football list of…

Michigan football list of restaurants is spot on.

in addition, I’d add rose’s luxury (new American), rumis kitchen (upscale Iranian), and absolutely have to second albi (Syrian)— all fantastic.

if you like Italian, Fiola (expensive Michelin started) or centrolina (less expensive still good).

Almost anything on 14th street (many named in Michigan football list)  is good as this is where much trendy stuff resides  (just think - 15 years ago you could have gotten shot on 14th street, now it is a restaurant hot spot).

You MUST have vaccination card to eat in DC restaurants. It’s the law.

I have lived in DC / now suburbs for 15 years. Food scene has improved dramatically.

enjoy!

Harbaugh is channeling his…

Harbaugh is channeling his inner Bo. Did Bo not turn down millions at Texas A&M because "some things are more important than money?" Also, the game plan against OSU mirrored Bo's run-first and be dominant physically philosophy. Still can't understand how a man who would not walk away from Michigan for more money would not have ripped a devious team doctor a new one had he truly understood the gravity of the situation. But that's a whole other topic ...

This team won @PSU, …

This team won @PSU, @Wisconsin, @Nebraska, and was a PI call away from winning @MSU.

These are tough environments to win and per FPI, none of these teams are slouches.

This is a very good team. Support the team and help them finish strong. Beat Maryland.

There are three sides to…

There are three sides to every story: the plaintiffs, the defendants, and the truth. The reason these three stories differ is due to people not telling the COMPLETE truth, because telling the WHOLE truth could hurt them personally in some way.

And that is where money, fame, and many conflict of interests come in to play.

Conflict of interests can bring out the worst behavior in people, and money and fame are powerful motivators for BAD behavior.

Let's look at the people involved:

1. The victims. These are the people truly hurt by bad behavior. Nothing will ever undo the psychological and emotional trauma they endured. It is a true tragedy, and these people hopefully will find strength to heal. A victim's true motivation to come forward is to heal, get the truth out, and warn others and society so this is not repeated.  For a TRUE victim, money is not a motivation.

2. Dr. Anderson.  Allegedly the true villain in the story. His behavior, if it is proven to be true, was inexcusable and narcissistic.

3. Schembechler. Allegedly a conspirator to the villain, who was also allegedly motivated to do nothing.  Fame and money can be a conflict of interest.

4. Canham. Allegedly a conspirator to the villain, who was motivated to do nothing. He is dead and can not be a witness. Fame and money could be a conflict of interest.

5. University of Michigan. Not a person. Ultimately its actions reflect on its leadership and the people it employs.

6. Attorneys. They have a job to do, and they get paid to do it.  Both sides (the university's counsel) and (the victim's counsel) will do their very best to serve their clients. Money can and is a conflict of interest.

7. Schembechler's son.  If truly  a victim, likely severely damaged by BOTH Anderson and Schembechler.

8. People motivated, primarily, by their own self interests, including money or fame. This is where it gets dicey. Are any of #1-7 acting primarily in their own self interests, motivated solely or mostly by money or fame?  #2, #3, and #4 are DEAD. They can not defend themselves. This presents a huge opportunity for #1, #6, and #7. Although the majority of #1 are probably TURE victims, are ALL people claiming to be victims motivated to tell the COMPLETE truth? Are all of #6 motivated by the complete truth, or for winning the case their clients?

Now let's take a deeper dive in to conflict of interests, esp as it related to Bo.

What would be Bo Schembechler's motivation to act as co-conspirator?

Is it money? Doubtful. You are talking about a man who TURNED DOWN the Texas A & M job because "there are things more important than money."

Is it fame? Doubtful. The coach was the winngest coach in college football at the time. Doing nothing would not help him.

Is it ignorance? Doubtful. The coach seemed like a pretty smart guy who knew how to motivate people and win many football games. He would have been smart enough to figure out something wasnt right.

So, without a clear motivation, I just can NOT understand Schembechler's motivations for NON action. How did Bo BENEFIT from doing NOTHING? Why would a man who turned down a  HUGE pay day because "there are things more important than money" do NOTHING or look the other way?

Now, let's look at his accusors, specifically at #7, Bo's son, and their MOTIVATIONS.

Re: Matt Schembechler.  What is his motivation?

Is it money? It is quite possible. Matt sued his dad in the past. He also sued the university. He also appears to have had an issue with his dad's estate.  Clearly, the two did not see eye to eye.

Is it fame? Not likely. Although, he could write a book about his experiences.

Is it envy? It is possible. He lived in the shadow of Bo. And to make it worse, he didn't see eye to eye with his dad.

Was Matt really a victim? This is the only question that matters.

Keep in mind, that a crises brings out the worst in people. Many people go through life thinking they got the short end of the stick. It could have been me, they think, but I got a raw deal, life never cut me a break. When will I get my chance? When Hurricane Katrina happened, many people lost everything. People who normally would never steal started looting, taking advantage of a bad situation. I got a raw deal, they think, and its time for the universe to pay me back.

In this tragic story, it is going to be hard to separate those taking advantage of a bad situation from those are victims. If Bo did nothing, it is all pretty damning, and we should take the statue down.

But we must at least consider that Matt may not be motivated to tell the complete truth and that Bo's alleged inaction seem inconsistent with his past behavior. Very few people turn down a job offering more money, because "there are things more important than money." Sadly, there is an opportunity for some to benefit here -- and what will they get -- money. We should really think about that.

I graduated phi beta kappa…

I don’t buy his explanation. I graduated phi beta kappa from Michigan in 1997 with double major in biology and near eastern studies and was surprised at how easy it was to transfer credits. One summer I even took two courses, one of which was required for my biology major at a state college in WV. I submitted a transcript and filled out a transfer request form. I had one semester of general physics  and one semester of general chemistry transfer — no problem; and, from a no name school hardly the equivalent of Purdue! All UM asked for was a course syllabus. Someone from each department reviewed the syllabus and made a determination to grant credit for an equivalent course. It was an easy process. There is more to this story if he is, as he states, “not admitted.”
