Might I ask what platform you all use to make some friendly wagers on the games?

SO GOOD The man is pure gold across the board. What else is there to say?

Who would you rather have coach your team?

Noooobody!
Awesome This post went from one I rolled my eyes at and didn't plan to read...to one I've read entirely through the comments and laughed, cried, empathized, etc.

I guess that's why they say don't judge a book by its cover. Or don't be a callous prick. I think they both apply.

You rock, mgobrethren!
Hilarious This is a top 5 comment of 2016.

Thanks for the laugh.
The pizza I don't think many would argue that pizza house is so appreciated due to its pizza in particular.

As others have noted, it is more likely based on an impeccable delivery practice, solid all-around menu, and perhaps dishwashers that double as Tom Brady's elite staff of scouts.

I digress...
This has me crying. Perfectly This has me crying. Perfectly played.
I mean VFL you seem like a I mean VFL you seem like a reasonable enough guy. But the general reaction from everyone in the "we are" cult is so consistent and just so, so wrong. You want to talk about fan base responses to the regimes in charge at the time of these incidents? Well, UM consistently showed disdain for Dave Brandon, and though not necessarily for the man himself - for Brady Hoke's ability to carry out the job of head football coach, his handling of such matters not just included, but emphasized. For the Brandon regime there was an organized boycott at the university president's house. There was a NYT best-selling book written by a tenured professor describing the incompetence of said regime. The response of those above on the Gibbons incident says it all. At PSU, well I can't say much because I honestly stopped listening. But the general treatment of JP as a deity is so fundamentally awful. There was something about insisting he had a statue. And the overall viewing of the world through giant Coke-bottle nittany lion glasses is more than I care to examine further. At the end of the day, which is the fanbase that consistently defends and dismisses the atrocities committed at their school -- errr -- cult headquarters? "You. Are." But hey I would love to be proven wrong. All the best to you personally. Happy Sunday all.
Heinous. Ya know...

I don't say a whole lot on here. But there is SUCH a problem with everything about this response. It's why Penn State is as much of a cult as anything we'll ever see.

You realize your inane response essentially did what everyone in your cult does every damn day...tried to "justify" or minimize THE RAPE OF YOUNG CHILDREN. A poster voices his dislike for a university that at the very least had multiple employees who were aware of child molestation yet did not make g*ddamn sure that it ended...and your response is waving your arms at another terrible thing that happened instead at Michigan???

I won't even for a second make an apples and oranges claim, although many would point out stark differences in the situations. Both situations were awful, to say the least. But rather than acknowledge it or even just staying quiet, your response is to point out that bad things happen too in Ann Arbor?

This is why Penn State disgusts us all. And by us I mean all human beings. There are jackasses on every campus but I swear there's not another cult on earth that would stand so steadfastly by proven scum. UM fans have fun hating on rivals like OSU or shady-appearing recruiting programs like Ole Miss, and I know several fans from each place, and while they like us have their warts, I can guarantee you those programs wouldn't go to your lengths to minimize fucking rape of children. You stand in your own league on this one. And it's atrocious.

I'm not holier than thou or up on some pedestal. Humans are flawed creatures, awful things happen. But the denial and failure to even admit that simple fact...from every single PSU cult member I've ever met...makes me sick. Absolutely sick. Take a f*cking look in the mirror. Realize that someone said they were disgusted by the child rape and cover-up that occurred at your school...and your response was to emphasize that something awful also allegedly happened at his school?? How do you f*cking sleep at night? You and your cult are truly a disgrace to humanity. Absolutely, positively, disgusting.
exactly like that

so much room for activities...recruits...you name it.

Rudock

Rudock this drive looking more like what we expected. Composure is such a sweet sweet thing. Keep it alive team.

Right on brother. There Right on brother. There really are no words for how he consistently behaved. To call it juvenile would be an insult to children. Some of his behaviors...let's remember this is as an ATHLETIC DIRECTOR...are absolutely unheard of! I can only imagine the extent to which other ADs were just baffled by his actions.
More than incompetence A few people above have supposed that Dave Brandon "did his best" or "meant well" in all he did for the university. Quite frankly I find that very naive and factually incorrect. As an overly optimistic person, that was my hope and was my presumption, but the facts of this book (indeed the facts, regardless of whether you believe JUB painted things in a certain light) prove otherwise. A few points:

1. "My reputation." He said it. And his actions were those of one who cares far more deeply about his own image and success than the entity he claims to represent. DB sought to make a splash in what he knew damn well didn't need one, but he wanted the glory he imagined could come with it. There is something deeply pathological and even more pitiful about naming your luxury home "Camp David." As others note, his need to be recognized as an "all-American in business" speaks further to this and is pathetic. These are the actions of someone I can never be proud to be associated with.

2. Friday firings. While reading the book, I was shocked by the manner in which he "cleared out" a successful department to rebuild it in his image (God-complex, anyone?). Yet it wasn't until the next day it really hit me...he sent 100 parents, husbands, wives, etc. home without a salary to support their family because they had...done their job consistently well? Not to mention exponentially better than he was doing his, yet he went home to Ever After with a multimillion dollar buyout?! A BUYOUT for a freaking athletic director...are you kidding me? Only DB. Quite literally (almost) only DB.

3. "I suggest you find a new team." Well, Dave, thankfully you don't get to make that decision. But the fact that he has the audacity to say that to fans sending a well-meaning thought or suggestion is infuriating. I've never written to an AD and probably never will, but I'll be damned if someone paid excessively for the honor to represent our university talks down to a well-intended fan or alum like that. Inept or not, that AD does not mean well, and you're damn wrong if you try to convince yourself he does.

There's so much more to say but I'll save us all the time. The reality is it doesn't need to be said. If you have any pride in yourself (which near everyone here does), the ways of DB were simply not the ways of someone who means well. You're right about incompetence, to be sure. But to assert that his ineptitude was solely a result of poor execution is an insult to my intelligence, and I don't have that much to spare.

Turning the page to a better, stronger, more unified Michigan. Go Blue.
Intelligence is refreshing Ya don't say...a coach who tracks statistics, grades out each player's performance, and is uniquely aware of how his team needs to improve. This was so damn good to hear I can't even put it into words. I look forward to watching the team get better each week. Go blue.

Obviously this award should Obviously this award should be a seat at the big person's table...
HERE. WE. GO!!!!!! Alright team! Alright coach! Here we go babyyyy!!!

I'm just really damn excited I'm just really damn excited to ENJOY Michigan football again. You?
If anyone decides on a If anyone decides on a section where there might be a bunch of seats we could try to get a good crew of us in the same area. Will be heading in from Bmore, would love to be cheering along with some fellow M fans. Let the board know when you buy!
In this case we definitely In this case we definitely have to include moose knuckles.
I never make comments but I never make comments but honestly...

This comment is softer than baby thighs. Yeah - this Harbaugh guy must be throwing everything at the wall hoping for the best. What an amateur comment to make. Clearly if JH wants to bring a kid in for one year he will NOT be there for the fun of it. I'm embarrassed a fellow Michigan fan would even assert this. Maize and blue bleeder...go home, you're drunk. You can't be older than 13. Despite what the past few years have shown you, this is NOT a throw shit at the wall and see what happens program. Check in on JH's public history before you accidentally speak out loud in front of other people again...
Define: HARBONER

Harboner (n.): The state of unparalleled tumescence brought about by the hiring of a certain James Harbaugh as head football coach at the University of Michigan.

"You were locked out of the house? Did the fire department have to break down the door?

No...it was the same week as the hiring, so I just used my Harboner to break it down."

Merry Xmas! Quick question on tickets...

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays my friends!

I have looked around on this site and others but could not find a clear answer, and I was hoping someone could clarify for me (in lay language) the current state of football season tickets. The official website (below) makes it sound as though the $150 one time donation makes you eligible for tickets for the upcoming year, but what are the practical ins and outs of the policy?

Presumably, the more you donate, the better chance you have?

Does donating one year contribute help your chances in future years?

Is there really no longer a "wait list" as in the past?

Any information you all could provide would be much appreciated. Have a great holiday.
