Beat Indiana

Beat Indiana

Not worried about Indiana in…

Not worried about Indiana in a 4 quarter game.  Now, if we only played them for 3 quarters, THEN I'd be worried!

Hahahaha classic troll move…

Hahahaha classic troll move from DPJ.  Keep this ball rolling!!

What you just said is…

What you just said is exactly why your idea of a "perfect world" doesn't exist.  Literally EVERY major sport, professional and collegiate, have a playoff system.  The CFP is only what, 4 years old?  If you say when you have one P5 team run the table, then why would any team play a tough out of conference game?  Clemson would sit on top of the mediocre ACC, and never play a legit out of conference opponent.

A team is being punished for having a tough schedule, and even a tough conference.  Majority of teams don't hit their stride until game 3 or 4, hence why most schedule cupcakes up to that.

And personally, I'd much rather see a team get hot towards the end of the season and run the table with 2 or 3 losses, like you see in any college basketball tournament (different sport, but same argument), than a team that cherry picks their games to bask in an over fluffed undefeated record.

Please explain how that in any way shape or form makes sense...

(side note: apologies for my gif link, trying to figure out how to directly post one without a link)

So down 21-10 in the second…

So down 21-10 in the second half after the offense sputtered on the first drive out isn't do or die time?  I'd argue the second half was CRITICAL for our defense.  They gave up 2 quick tds, and the defense settled down then I'd say.  If the first 10 min were do or die time, then maybe we just shouldn't of came out the second half.

This might be one of the…

This might be one of the most ignorant statements I've read from an OSU fan.  And that says a lot.

I mean what other thing are…

I mean what other thing are you supposed to do?  Hit the panic button, scream the sky is falling, etc etc?  Yeah obviously there are several issues that need addressed.  I never said everything was rainbows and butterflies, but after losing the first game of the year by 7 against not only a rival opponent but ranked top 15 I'm not going to wash the whole season away.  Still lots of time to improve, or collapse if that's what you're more into.

Spot on with that.  That's…

Spot on with that.  That's what sucks the most is that you can list the times those plays have went our way in the last 7 YEARS.  Programs shouldn't be able to do that.

I'm sure I'm the minority…

I'm sure I'm the minority here, but I don't think all hope is gone, YET.  Obviously our o-line is the biggest issue, as it has been for the past several seasons, and it's apparent that coaches know this (short quick passes, screens, roll outs).  Knew that ND was gonna come out amped and drive down the field and score the first drive with the crowd behind them.  Defense really hunkered down in the second half and made adjustments, just too little too late given our offense not rising to the occasion.

Biggest thing is we need those 50/50 plays to go our way, and I don't think any of them did last night.  First game of the year, non conference opponent.  In the grand scheme of things this game is a measuring stick for us to see where we are at.  Hopefully these next two weeks our guys can fine tune the issues and be ready to bring a better product to the table for B1G play, or else it will be a long season.

Any game, especially a…

Any game, especially a rivalry, you got about 5 or so plays that are pivotal to the outcome.  Spot on on those two there, Winovich HAS to be smarter.  Completely inexcusable by a 5th year Senior.  Can argue and say it was a bang bang play, but gotta know better.

Gentry letting the safety knock the ball out of his hands in the endzone for a TD,  Hawkins letting the ball literally go right through his hands in the end zone would be two other plays that didn't go in our favor either.  Painful, to say the least.

Yeah, not too impressed on…

Yeah, not too impressed on any of the TEs overall.  GOT to be able to bring in that ball in the end zone.  Had some solid catches, but blocking was abysmal.

I really like that stadium…

I really like that stadium environment idea!  Gonna have to steal that one this year.

If you don't have weird…

If you don't have weird quirks/superstitions during the games, how can you be a diehard?!  I have quite a few things that I must do for games.

1.) home games - home jerseys.  Vice versa for away games.

2.) At the beginning of the year I hang the classic Michigan flag up outside and let that bad boy fly until the last game of the year.  I always buy a new flag before every year.

3.) My fiance and I give a single high five for first downs, and a double high five on touchdowns.

and 4.) I HAVE to watch games at home on my couch, unless I'm at a game.  I have tried to watch games at bars/friends houses, but it never goes well.

So what you're saying is,…

So what you're saying is, you only wear your U of M G-string?

I think its the shade of…

I think its the shade of blue that throws it off.  Give it the same shade of blue, and blue chrome face mask and it might, MIGHT look good.

But, as they always say, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it"

OSU 2015

Been to at least one game a year since 2011 with my fiance, hadn't seen them lose until this onslaught.  Remember we got surprised with tickets from her parents Thanksgiving day and was BEYOND thrilled especially with the season they were having.  Drove up Friday to stay in a hotel that night and Saturday night (live near Louisville, KY about 6 hrs away).

Stayed the whole game watching Zeke put up 10,000 yards against our defense.  So mad ended up driving home that same day.  Needless to say it was a quiet ride home.

I personally loved hearing

I personally loved hearing players telling each other they were proud of each other when they had a good game/made a big play.  It really shows how much they care for each other and genuiunely want them to do well.  One thing you can't take away from this team, and it's that they are a family that's for sure.

Thoughts

I still have the last episode to watch (hard to watch these last 3 loses back to back to back), but overall I am happy I watched it.  Really gives you a different perspective of these young men outside of what we see on Saturdays as just a football player.

Some of my observations:

- Think the biggest thing that irked me was with Speight talking to Pep on the phone during games.  Made me cringe hearing Pep telling him what to go tell the line/offense and he go say the same thing verbatim.  You shouldn't have to do that for a leader, which a qb is supposed to be.

- I'll be the 300th person to say this, but Don Brown man.  WOW.   Love his passion he shows and the way he communicates with his guys.  I was ready to brush the dust off my cleats and throw pads on after his speeches!

- I seem to be the minority hear, but I liked JOK.  The kid showed passion, leadership, and confidence throughout the whole series.  He was just in way over his head, not a Michigan caliber qb.  LOVED how he immediately was behind Peters when he lost his job, and was ready to for his name to be called again.

- Gary and Winovich are the heartbeat of this team, and I couldn't be happier to have them back next year.  Both are just flat out ballers who play with so much emotion (as you could see after the MSU game) and truly care about this team.

- Finally, I think the Harbaugh critics are a little harsh on his pre game speeches.  Most of your headcoaches aren't going to be your pump up guy (cue in Don Brown).  Harbaugh proves to be a great teacher and role model in these guys lives.

Is it September 1st yet?!  Can't wait to see this team next year.

I get it

Eh..  I get O'Korn ripping Gentry for that int.  Gotta look at the stakes, he was playing on a short leash already, and that int likely cost him the job.  Of course it still isn't a good look, but still I get where that came from.
