I'll be there - Section 119.  Headed downtown around 4 to hit a bar or two before heading to stadium.

I'm from Kalamazoo, plenty of good options here:

I'm not convinced - all the twitter stuff seems to start with the guy with 8 followers that was amplified by an OSU fan.  I'll need more to be worried - and even if he didn't make the trip, he could clear and make it Friday.

I love Hutchinson as much as anyone and his impact on our team by coming back can't be overstated... however I think that Milton's story and road to playing again is far more impressive.

Hard disagree - had a pitcher of LIIT at Skeeps on Saturday (4:30 PM because I’m classy) and its the same level of anything it was ever.  Plus if you subscribe to the bartenders podcast, he’ll give you 2 shots for free!

Interesting cocktail... I'm a Michigan Alum and run a Rye Whisky brand, I'd love to collaborate on a future post if possible!  If you'd be interested in working together, let me know and we can discuss.

I should view the time I've spent watching so far as a sunk cost and move on but I have a compulsion to keep watching.

Yeah - the single device streaming is keeping me from Hulu w/Live TV.

I agree the semantics of "cutting the cord" vs cable don't mean much when you end up with almost like for like while saving.

I'm just about to pull the plug on Comcast - YouTube TV has been the answer (as suggested above).  Only channel I'll miss is History Channel (what if they FIND something on Oak Island!?)

All in all, internet + YouTube TV will save me ~$50/mo

Also, I always feel that those who add 'extra' streaming services they would use even with cable (Netflix, Disney+) to the cost of cutting the cord are creating a specious argument.

Why does it have to be one or the other?

Thanks for checking it out!  Its certainly neither as sweet & spicy as Drambuie or as citrusy as Cointreau, all three ingredients (Rye whiskey, Orange Peel and Honey) combine for a subtly sweet flavor and smooth finish.  Its proven to be great as a shot out at fall/winter tailgates and over ice as an old fashioned after a game.

Self Promotion Alert!

I work in the booze industry, for a small company that has two brands (which comprise a lot of my liquor cabinet):

Heaven's Door - Premium Whiskeys made in partnership with Bob Dylan - really good stuff in the premium segment

Stolen Spirits - We've been in the market for a while with a Smoked Rum and 11 Yr whiskey but we've recently launched a product called Stolen X - its a flavored Rye that tastes like an old fashioned.  Should be able to find for less than $25/bottle.

I'd love for those MgoCommunity who drink to give it a try, we're in 28 states so you should be able to find it where you are.

If you've had any of our products, please let me know your honest thoughts!

Agreed! Just don't go back to most of them, nostalgia is best IMO.

Family Business

My dad took my family to Zingmerman's on gameday in the 90's and generally taught us to appreciate good food.  In 98 he bought a specialty store in a midsize town on the Westside with similar product mix.  We expanded the store to include a deli: Zingerman's bread, Sy Ginsgberg Corned beef and pastrami, homemade russian dressing, higher than average employee salaries, all of that.  We had to charge $9.00 a sandwich about 3/4 the size one at Zingerman's to make it worth it, and it still barely covered the true cost, the ingredients are expensive.

After the recession we saw push back on higher prices and people buying less of the "speciality" stuff and cut back on those things.  Its amazing that Zingerman's has been able to sustain growth AND command higher prices.

As noted earlier in the thread, their target market is the top %% of earners and those who place a premium on food quality.  If you aren't that target, don't bother worrying about it, your life will be just fine.  If you do value those experiences, Zingerman's is worth every penny.

Patient 0 (2004 edition)

I lived on 4th Reeves in Markley for the 2004 Markley Plauge.  It was the guy across the hall from me who started the whole thing.  Friday night he had a girl from home come visit, she wasn't feeling well but he thought nothing of it.  Sunday was the Super Bowl and we had a party in the common area, by Tuesday everyone in the hall had it.

We were quarantined for the week and excused from all exams, labs, papers, etc.  By Thursday we all felt well enough that it became one of the best weeks of the year. None of us told our parents (Quarantine -NBD right?) and only through national news outlets did they start to call to see if we were all ok.

All in all, you feel like crap for a few days but what doesn't kill you makes you stronger!
