Warde messed up on Mel. Bakich got a better deal at Clemson and it supports that program more than we do. Beilein wanted to try the NBA and now regrets it. Harbaugh is on short lists for NFL. His agent is making calls around the league either for leverage on better deal terms or because Jim has told him he would leave for right deal. There is nothing you can do to stop people from leaving a job short of them owning the place they are working. Buyouts are just that and money can come from anywhere to make those go away or be easier to digest if they make a deal to make payments in some other way than just a huge lump sum and likely it comes from pro owners or from big boosters at a program desperate. Even if we were to lock all our assistant coaches into contracts when push comes to shove even their buyouts or contracts can and will renegotiated. Look at any business and this is the case. The fact is if the coaches want to be at Michigan they will stay at Michigan.
Can we please stop suggesting people like Hartline? Yes, I know Bo coached at Ohio State BUT he then coached at Miami ,Ohio. The rivalry was strong then but the Ten Year War and the years since have strengthened it to the point a person like Hartline who played at Ohio State and now has coached there for such a long time would not even consider it. Let’s try to use more logic and reasoning.

i was in Chile for work last week(not a humble brag, just a fact of life for some that occassionally travel for work) and I hit up a few of the contacts listed. Needless to say, but they were very nice Michigan alums that i emailed and they linked me up with a few others including some Ross grad school guys who were in town. We met at a bar and they used a website(cannot remember the name) to stream it on a TV. It was a good time...we did not sing the Victors because the game against Texas A&M was out of hand. We mostly caught up and talked about how great Michigan and Ann Arbor are and how luck we were to watch together. If that fails just get a VPN service on laptop or tablet and use March Madness so it can trick the geolocator. That worked for me to watch other games in my hotel. Because it is the final four you might get lucky and it might be on ESPN International(who has the rights and might show it, though they did not show any games while i was there).
