I was in Virginia in 2017…

I was in Virginia in 2017 for the 85%~ and it was pretty disappointing.  Being in the totality was so much more impressive.  Be able to watch it on my deck, during a mild trip, on a beautiful day was also really nice.

I don't know if happens to…

I don't know if happens to everyone but I woke up feeling like someone tried to pump me up like a balloon.  The worst gas pains I could imagine...  Didn't last long though.

Definitely betting on…

Definitely betting on Michigan to cover -19.5 and a bonus bet on a higher alternate spread.

Space/time bending aliens,…

Space/time bending aliens, bothering to secretly visit earth, then often crashing and being seen/recorded.

vs

People buying into bs.

...  Equally plausible.

I don't get the impression…

I don't get the impression Grusch believes what he's saying at all.  The guy sounds like he took a masterclass in conspiracy mongering and self aggrandizement.  I think he says what he can get away with ("subtlety" cloaked hearsay, mostly) and that which will further his notoriety.  Some of the other witnesses come across as far more credible but they're also making far less extraordinary claims...  Basically "We seen some shit we can't explain".

Gotta agree.  Couldn’t make it past halfway through S1.

Mandalorian isn’t even the best show in the Star Wars universe.  Andor has been the only show on Disney+ I’ve been able to finish a season of.

I feel bad for Seth.  You…

I feel bad for Seth.  You guys constantly interrupt or talk over everything he says.  When he occasionally gets a word in it seems you bend over backwards to disagree or be dismissive...  Giving credit for his “Patty” joke to someone else?  I’m starting to wonder if this is all a bit?  Did I miss the shitting on Seth joke?

BTW- I am definitely not Seth.

Not sure it’s my favorite,…

Not sure it’s my favorite, but the one I used earlier today...

You know how birds sometimes fly in a V formation?

”yeah”

You know why sometimes one side is longer than the other?

”why?”

Because there are more birds on that side.

I’ve spent the last few years I’ve spent the last few years trying every Scotch I could get my hands on. I’m up to over two dozen so far. They’re so varied and taste is so subjective, it’s nearly impossible to recommend something with nothing to go on (hard enough if I already knew a few you liked). That said... I strongly prefer single malts. There are a few blends I can drink but they are well down the list below a bunch of single malts. My favorites are... Talisker 10 Highland Park 12 Laphroaig 10 and the Quarter Cask (these are very smokey... Or is it “peaty”? I’ve yet to get a clear answer on if these are different things and which is which in the nomenclature). Bunnhabhain 12 Aberfeldy 12 Edit- And yes, a little water is a good thing. It does bring out the flavors. I like to let it sit for a good 10 minutes or so after adding a little.
Whisky > whiskey

And if
Whisky > whiskey

And if you're not drinking single malt Scotch? You're doing it wrong.
Thought this (or some Thought this (or some variation) was one of the most widely known Bo quotes... I like night games. Most people like night games (judging by the ratings). I disagree with Bo on this and the rematch that wasn't in 2006.
Yeah, but he ate a bucket of Yeah, but he ate a bucket of puppies on the sideline.
I really enjoyed her time

I really enjoyed her time with The Hound. It seems I enjoyed her story last season better than most... But it did drag at times.

Didn't she already remove The Didn't she already remove The Hound from the list? Seem to remember that being a thing.
Arya has moved up from "one Arya has moved up from "one of my favorite characters, maybe top 3" to "officially my favorite character". When Sansa realizes she wasn't joking about her kill list... The training scene was amazing with Sansa and Little Finger looking on. Everyone is talking about the battle... But this was Arya's episode to me. Arya's and Sansa's to a lesser extent. The battles are great but it's this is the stuff that really makes the show for me. The scene where Tyrion drags the chair at The Small Council meeting, The Spider opening the box, Little Finger's "Chaos Is A Ladder" speech... All of Arya's role/performance in this episode.
I started the show first and

I started the show first and got invested in it. I read up to The Red Wedding in the books, catching up to where I was in the show at the time... Haven't went back to the books. I enjoyed what I read, but I didn't fall in love with it, like I did the show. To be fair, I haven't been a big reader of fiction in recent years, the show is probably my all time favorite tv show (definitely top 3)... And again, I started with (and fell in love with) the show.

My thoughts exactly! I

My thoughts exactly! I remember all of the "playing outside" I did in the 80's and early to mid 90's... I'm fine with the lack of kids I see running around.

Season 1 was great... Season Season 1 was great... Season 2 was ok... Season 3 was pretty bad imo.
All good advice, here. I'd

All good advice, here. I'd add...

Accuracy is all about quality paint (consistent size and shape), it's fit to your barrel, and consistent pressure (one reason CO2 sucks). I don't know if the ridiculously long barrels are still around? But stay away from anything longer than 10-12" or so (maybe 14"?). It offers nothing but a way to increase ball breaks in your barrel (a mess).

I was playing around the same time (rec-ball in the woods). I still miss my low pressure, dual-regulated, Black Magic Autococker, with Freak barrel and Dye double trigger. Sure it didn't have the rate of fire of most of the markers, but it was easily the most accurate on the field. It would put paint on paint at max range and velocity never varied more than 3fps with good paint (it loved the green/black All-STAR). The only thing that came somewhat close was a buddy's Autococker.

... Had over $2000 in that thing.

Oh!... And don't listen to the sissies! As long as people aren't shooting way over the 300fps they should be and your eyes are protected, you'll be fine.

I'm not making shit up... I'm

I'm not making shit up... IIRC I got that impression based on his own words, comments from coaching staff, comments from Sam Webb and comments from a reliable insider about Wheatley not being his biggest fan.

I just don't get the

I just don't get the perpetual Isaac hype. The guy hasn't been able to do better than "competing to be #3". Almost all of his good runs came through truck sized holes and/or against soft competition, and he can't run through tall grass despite his size. There has also been talk of him not having the best attitude at times... Seems like he's "turned that around" at least twice now. I suspect he'll be competing with Walker to be #3 again this year.

Thanks for the translation. Thanks for the translation.
I've had no problems I've had no problems listening to the podcasts with the iTunes app on my SE.
You da real MVP! You da real MVP!
He's earned the right to He's earned the right to decide for himself. If he was my son he'd already have been taught that there are more important things in life than money. I'd tell him that I had no doubt he'd be successful in life regardless of this single choice and he should do what makes him happy... He's earned it.
I couldn't disagree more. I couldn't disagree more. Sure you have people role playing and such online and you have the freedom to pretend to be anything you want. But you also have the freedom to be yourself in a way that most can't in their everyday life. Some of my most valued friendships have developed with people I've met through online gaming. People can often open up about their views on everything from politics, religion, etc in a way that could get them ostracized in real life and cause problems within their families, jobs, communities... And I'm not talking about message boards, venting your most base emotions/impulses or the like. I'm talking about one on one, or small group conversations and activities over a period of months/years. A quality person doesn't become d-bag when they log on and sincerity isn't something someone can fake for months with nothing but conversation to carry them... Unless your BS-meter is completely broken. I think virtual interactions are more open to a broad spectrum of experiences, where real life interactions tend to be far more tempered. I have far more (in quality and quantity) interesting conversations in PSN chats than I've had in "real life" social settings.
Hollow and manufactured Hollow and manufactured rivalries and drama... Grown men performing elaborate endzone celebrations and proposing to nets and such... It's mercenary nature (related to the hollow rivalries already mentioned) where your favorite player can end up on a rival team and vice versa... And the all around "WWE" vibe I get from the whole thing. I stopped watching professional team sports decades ago and they're far worse now as far as I can tell.
The only team they've played The only team they've played with a pulse is BYU. They gave up 32 pts and won by a FG. Only Toledo has given up more points to BYU.
Iowa is just awful and MSU is Iowa is just awful and MSU may be slightly better. Handwringing is the old Michigan mentality after getting dick-kicked for a decade. This is a new era, The Harbaugh Era... Sparty is in for a serious beating.
You're forgetting the playoff You're forgetting the playoff game and championship game.
Speight only plays against Speight only plays against the opposing defense. Wisconsin is arguably the toughest he'll see all year and there's only one other opponent on the schedule who's D looks intimidating. You can't pick out the most damning stat, against the toughest opposition yet (and possibly all year) in a discussion about extrapolating stats.
Looking at the schedule and Looking at the schedule and I'm not seeing this "massive competition increase". Wisconsin is very likely our 2nd toughest game this year, Colorado and UCF would probably be competitive (at worst) with everyone else remaining aside from OSU. Who's the toughest opponent after OSU? Indiana, MSU or Maryland? Illinois, Iowa and Rutgers are awful.
This is such BS... I don't This is such BS... I don't know why some people are grasping at straws and trying to diminish the catch. It was a one on one game icing play. Field position didn't matter, you could even argue that taking control of the ball was a safer move. And again, in regards to significance... It was a game icing, probably touchdown saving int, in a top ten matchup to keep a playoff ranking.
That's why I included the That's why I included the "(?)". I think Wisconsin could arguably be the best defense we face. I just didn't want it to turn into a debate about OSU's being better. Edit- Now see that you may not have been directing the question to me.
I agree he'll probably need I agree he'll probably need to do more against OSU. I just think this game showed maturity and that he's on course. He didn't fold in his toughest test yet.
He was 20/32 for 219 against He was 20/32 for 219 against what looks like the second toughest (?) defense we'll see this year. His one Int was on a diving/fingertip tipped ball. He didn't look spectacular but he managed the game and allowed the defense to win it. I don't think he's hit his ceiling either.
Speight
Didn't put up sexy
Speight Didn't put up sexy numbers but he took care of the ball and didn't crack under the pressure.
Not sure if they're "issues", Not sure if they're "issues", as in "problems"... But I'm pretty sick of things getting "fixed" that aren't broken. Several examples in iOS 10 (I hate how I no longer have a simple "define" but I can instead see half a dozen stupid suggestions (from movies to Wikipedia pages) on a given word). See it all the time with website redesigns. Take away a perfectly functional site that I know backwards and forwards, for one that may (at best) work slightly better/worse and that I need to learn how to navigate all over again.
While that undoubtedly

While that undoubtedly happens, it's also true that many disabilities aren't obvious and often disabled people are overweight because of much greater difficulty with physical activity.

Yeah, because that's exactly Yeah, because that's exactly what I would expect any coach to say... Call it what you want. The difference is that they were moving the ball really well in the first. With the start of the 2nd Michigan's defense took over. The pressure was overwhelming and their production had been shut down. I know plenty of non-Michigan fans (no "blue-tinted shades") who describe it in similar fashion.
Feel free to latch onto a Feel free to latch onto a single word and try to build something out of nothing with it. And no I wouldn't describe the first two TDs as lucky.... Only the one in the 3rd which was clearly an act of desperation by a wounded man. I'm not trying to "diminish" anything. Just calling it like I see it. They had a great 1st quarter and it went downhill quickly from there. I was confident at the half that Michigan would win handily and they did.
He was running for his life He was running for his life and getting smashed repeatedly from the start of the second quarter. He got a lucky bomb over the top when he was hobbled and everyone on the field (as well as in the stadium and watching on tv) thought he was going to hand it off. Nothing against the kid... But the writing was on the wall well before he went out.
There was no .5... At least There was no .5... At least not from the defense.
I don't think the run game I don't think the run game against Colorado was as bad as some make it out. I'm not sure how many attempts others got, but looking at Smith's numbers... 87 yards on 11 attempts for nearly 8 ypc? Even if you take out the long (as people are wont to do) he averaged 4.5 ypc? Not exactly terrible.
Not exactly what you're Not exactly what you're looking for here... But I love that McDooooom is #13.
I'm glad I don't bother with

I'm glad I don't bother with game threads... Talking two friends off the ledge via text message, after a bad quarter, is enough for me. I can't imagine the message board meltdown (and have no interest in finding out).

He completed like 4 passes

He completed like 4 passes for positive yardage after the first quarter (one was the TD bomb when he was hobbled and everyone and their mother thought he was handing it off)... While being pressured about a dozen times, sacked and taking half a dozen big hits. Once the defense woke up I don't think it mattered a lot if he was in there. They may have moved the ball a little more, but I'm not convinced it would have translated into points.
