Can’t lie...that move by Smith was sweet as hell!
They’ve been able to generate good looks by much of the same mechanism as the men’s team does: by getting the ball in the post and kicking it out to an open shooter, sometimes with ball reversals. All those open looks will definitely keep us in the game, but we’re going to have to knock down a higher percentage of them than we have so far.

At the half we're now 3-13 from deep (23%) but if we'd hit some of those open looks we missed on this could be knotted up or better at halftime.

Yeah but at halftime we're only down by six! We make just 30% of those shots and we are right there. Not only that, we force them to contest the three, opening up space for Naz. Despite the score we are in a good place and I think the girls know it.

This game is over unless Michigan decides to play this quarter. Refs are also calling this a little tighter for Michigan.
Can't hate the performance though. Baylor/UCONN are so insanely loaded. It is like putting Alabama and Clemson in the MAC and expecting anything other than them to win it all.
I see the refs got the memo on calling fouls on Michigan.
And the announcers got the memo on slobbering all over Baylor.
I don’t watch much of women’s basketball but I did watch Baylor last game and a few other programs from time to time. The speed and overall athleticism on some of these teams is crazy compared to others. Michigan looks like they play very slow and lethargic and Baylor is going behind the back and that one girl shoots an actual jump shot.
I wouldn't go so far as lethargic, Baylor is that athletic and make us look lethargic.
I watched the TN game as well and our players looked much slower than theirs also. It could be me not used to watching women’s basketball but our team just looks slower than others. They seem to score with ball movement and not where we use speed and athleticism. I hope we win, just an observation I’ve noticed with a few of the teams I’ve watched vs some others.
We are hanging in there. I’ve enjoyed the women’s games today, I must say I don’t watch often. UConn looks insane, but Michigan is playing much better defense than Iowa did. Can tell Baylor has such good players, their coach is scary though...
