and here we are, this is so wild.  Id be fine if that game with them got cancelled lol

also, didnt want to create a new thread for this, to see Michigan favored by 3.5 at Indiana is astonishing.

I dont bet online, but if I did, well I would not bet on that

So really looks like Purdue is in a great spot to win the division. Already beat Iowa, don't have to play Wisconsin, Minnesota doesn't look as good as advertised, crossovers against Rutgers and Indiana. Purdue probably sees this as a good thing for their season outlook.

I still don’t understand the people who were pushing for the season to be played. Nothing good was going to happen for Michigan this season. I mean yeah it was just kicking the can down the road but it would have been a nice break. Now the season is a total failure and Michigan is back to being a national joke.

I think Michigan should either join the Ivy League for football or cut the program. I am not sure any coach could succeed at Michigan because there are too many internal obstacles. What is the point of losing to OSU every year? It is clear Harbaugh isn’t the answer but the problem is much greater than him.

Michigan isn't an "Ivy" league school despite what many fans think.  This constant claiming of doing things "the right way would seemingly put UM's football academic results in the same bucket as Stanford, ND, Northwestern, etc.  Instead, it's right in line with plenty of other schools that - according to some of our fans - cheat to win (i.e. OSU).  UM players are NO different academically than most other big-time teams.  Thinking otherwise is just an inaccurate excuse.

BTW, UM has ranked several spots below OSU the past two years in football APR as measured by the NCAA.  The only thing we're doing the "right way" is losing to MSU and getting waxed annually by OSU.

But Wisconsin will show up in Ann Arbor with a full team, including all starters with two weeks of fully practiced game prep.  Alvarez is such a sham artist.

It would be the ultimate troll of Nebraska if the Big Ten let Purdue schedule a non conference game this weekend to make up for this cancelled game.

As was mentioned in a thread over on Maize n Brew, a team can only back out of two games and still be eligible for the conference championship.  So they either show up in A² or their season is more or less over, title-wise anyway.

QB Mertz comes off confinement on Saturday morning, so he is eligible to play without having practiced with the team for 3 weeks.

A rusty Mertz or Milton, place your bets ;o)

I personally believe that the non-games should be counted as a theoretical loss for Wisconsin.

If they finish undefeated at 6-0, 5-0 or whatever, that ninth game doesn't get them to the 1 vs. 1 game because they caused their own lack of play. So they would be looked at as 6-2.  5-3, etc.

Which means Purdue and Nebraska get that theoretical extra win because it wasn't their fault the Wisconsin couldn't keep their shit together.

Unfortunately, sports is such a filthy, shameless world that this is a completely unacceptable take.

Turn COVID cancellations into forfeits and programs will Enron the fuck out of testing to ensure they're not impacted by positives.  And as long as they're doing that, why have a bubble at all?

The point is to not spread the plague, thankyouverymuch.

I realize this is a football blog and one I’ve checked in on every day since 2011. But , honestly, only my opinion, I couldn’t care less that Wisc vs. Purdue is cancelled. The bigger question is whether Manuel has the balls to refuse to play Wisc in 11 days. Forfeit if necessary. Or will Schlissel get involved.
