Wisconsin / Coaching Reminder

Submitted by The Granddaddy on November 14th, 2020 at 12:54 PM

Unfortunately, no one is getting fired and no one is resigning.  This is a ridiculous year. I think we let the joy of football being back a few weeks ago cloud the realism of the situation — this year is just a gimmick / bonus year for everyone.

Because maybe college football is a game played by a bunch of teenagers and early twenty somethings, most of whom are taking full time classes and other obligations that prevent them from doing full time football, that is not always as predictable as we'd like to believe.

Right. And then think how inappropriate it is to have such a complex offense, and defense for that matter.  Herein might lie Harbaughs problem.  Look how complex this offense is and supposedly no plays yet has been shown yet for the OSU game.

There is complex, then there's overly complex...  Better to hone fewer plays with repetition.

And this might explain why we lost MSU and PSU is winless, while lower teams are playing well.  Smaller programs have less complexity in their plays and offense and are executing.

How about a reminder we could bring in Tom Allen, Mike Hart and Nick Sheridan next yr or the yr after.. Sprinkle in some passion and youth to the program. "Enthusiasm unknown to mankind" is what I'm seeing from Tom Allen right now not Harbaugh!!

Agreed.  It's unfair UM is the only team having to deal with Covid. And, if some things went a different ways, but all the breaks UM got didn't change, things would be a lot different.  So, UM is basically undefeated.  Other teams better enjoy it while it lasts.  Next season, in a post covid world, UM will be back to the well-oiled, disciplined, explosive, modern-offensive-having-attacking team it was pre-covid.

I like that we got the traditional bargaining thread out of the way about six hours before the game this time. This is progress towards developing a truly efficient way to navigate the Kubler-Ross stages of grief.

Here's another reminder before everyone gets their torches and pitchforks out of their sheds...

The time has come. Beilein had a nice run, but the team has lacked intensity and grit for far too long now. Not to mention a severe lack of athleticism. I think Beilein needs to ride off into the sunset and retire. It's time for a new direction. When you hire new assistants for specific purposes and you actually regress in those areas, the writing is on the wall. Thanks for your services Beilein. But your team is no longer watchable.

Being overly forgiving is just as bad as being the mob. These coaches deserve criticism. No amount of "this season doesn't matter" should excuse them from that. And this season always mattered. Even if 2020 was always going to be a building block season because we were replacing too many players to win anything of substance. This doesn't seem like a team building towards anything right now. And that's a failure.

I'm going to start a thread titled "my very important thoughts on things."  In it I will offer my very valuable insights on coaching, recruiting, play-calling and the state of our rivalry with OSU.  You know, stuff that we never talk about and topics I wouldn't be able to comment on otherwise.

Then, about halftime I think I'll start a new and exciting thread titled "things I think about" or maybe "let me tell you what I think about things"

Because if I don't start a new thread everything I have a random thought how will the rest of you know what I'm thinking?  And judging by our GameDay thread creation THAT is the most important thing of all.

Surprised Wisconsin is only favored by 6.5. Even with a shorthanded Wisconsin team this will be a blood bath. Wisconsin wins 56-6. Michigan won’t win another game this season.
