Will Rudock make the team?

Submitted by The Man Down T… on

I don't have NFL Ticket and can't see many Lion's games out here in North Carolina so I can't get a feel for how he's doing.   I've never wanted someone to make a team more than this.  It would be the cool storybook ending to Jake's journey.  What's the feeling back home?  Is he going to be there on opening day?

Sadly, I'll have to agree with this.  I've thought, since he was hired, that Caldwell has his favorites and they're the only ones that get real consideration.  His insistance on keeping Orlovsky is why Kellen Moore was shipped out despite always playing better in preseason 'tryouts'.  Same with the WR's - The two yahoo's he lept the last couple of years were a plain disgrace.  But they were the only two that had any shot at actually keeping a job.

Disclaimer - I'm not a fan of Caldwell's.  And he makes me understand why each and every game.  I do understand why Quinn kept him for this year.  Make his own determination, and too may other things to fix first off...

Doesn't matter that Orlovsky is Caldwell's guy because Caldwell isn't Bob Quinn's guy. Caldwell basically has to win now or kiss major butt to survive this year as I think most people know that the coach was only retained as a courtesy to appease Martha and will be on a very short leash.

If Quinn wants Rudock on the roster, he will be on it. He isn't going to genuflect to a coach he didn't hire.

My information from an unnamed inside source says Rudock is qb3 and the lions will be taking 3 qbs this year.

I'm calling you out. If we're supposed to just believe you, who are your sources? Why would they tell you these things? I don't buy it. Really your whole delivery of information here is bad. You can't lose. If you're right you'll drown in MGoPoints, and if not you'll just create another account and in two weeks everyone will forget.

I'm anger.

and typical Lions.  There are depth issues on the entire roster, except WR and RB.  They should cut Orlovsky and use that roster space on one of the LB or safety cuts from another team.  The defense is a bigger concern than keeping a third QB.

Cooter + Rudock can work if Stafford goes down.

I hope so, but the Caldwell-Orlovsky connection runs deep. IMO, Rudock did extremely well for himself this preseason, but I'm afraid that if he doesn't make the roster out of the gate, he won't make any roster ever. The league is quick to forget people like Rudock, but for some reason will pay guys like Orlovsky forever.
