Who Will You Miss From This Year's Team ?

Submitted by rockydude on

We appreciate the hard work and sacrifice made by all of our players, but just like Mom, sometimes we play favorites. Who in particular are you going to miss from this team? (I don't care if it is the tenth string trainer, let us all know)

I really like Sione Houma. He just lowers his head and charges forward. The guy would run into a brick wall for short yardage, and the wall would probably give in before he did. And cool hair counts for something, people . . .

improved immensely during the year.  that said, i am very confident that his replacement will be equally as good.  however, o'neil, but for one play, may be the best punter i have ever seen at UM...and i go back to the 1980s.

I'm going to sound like a dick here and be downvoted but why Blake? I think he's a great punter and all but will I miss him? ehh not for that fumble, sorry

I don't see the comparison. Carr repeatedly struggled to beat Tressel; there was reason to believe he'd continue to lose to him if he stayed on. O'Neill fumbled a punt once. Aside from that he was lights-out as a punter. There is no guarantee our next punter will be as good. In fact, odds are he'll be worse.

That happens. I still blame the coaches for not max protecting.

My heartburn is Blake freaking out and flinging the ball into mid air, right to a sparty. If he'd kept his wits and just fallen in the ball, we win.

I love our coach, but, on that one play, he was asleep at the wheel. He should have called time out and setup the protection.

Utah put up some huge point totals this year when they were healthy, except when they played us. The results against MSU were solid. Minnesota, less so, although I don't remember anything cringeworthy except a couple of how-did-he-catch that moments. I think the loss of Glasgow was really significant, and also that of Mario for those stretch plays. Arguably Mone as well, since we just didn't have the size in the center of the line. Tough to tell for sure, since the schedule change coincided with some of those injuries, but you don't get three shutouts in a row by accident. BYU had no trouble scoring with their backup all season, for instance.

Easily the best defense since Lloyd with probably no early round draft picks in the front seven. Couple that with 3 consecutive shut outs. Think that guy is going to be pretty successful. Best of luck. He served us well.

what's your definition of an early round draft pick?  me thinks there will be a few guys in our current 2 deep that gets drafted in the first 3-4 rounds when they are done at UM.

Mostly because probably nobody else would have mentioned him, but also because he's one of the many who seldom (or never) got in a game, but still stayed. Champions, all of them!

Difficult to understand how he grows such a significant head of hair on what must be an extraordinarily hard skull surface.

Will miss him mostly because almost every time he got a carry my son would look at me and say, "Man, I would hate to have to tackle him!"

I suspect he will get a shot at the next level.
