Who should be then Top 4? Who is your Top 4?
This is my Top 4.
I have Alabama above Ohio St because I think Tua Tagovailoa is still only about 80% recovered from injury. By the time the Playoffs come in January he will be 100%, and Alabama would probably beat both Ohio St and Clemson. LSU, I don't know. Maybe even with Tagovailoa at 100%, on a neutral field, LSU might still win. Ohio St has looked better than Clemson. So they're at 3.
Now who the coaches, AP, and especially the CFP, picks as the Top 4 will be totally different. It's still strange the CFP ever had Penn St in the Top 4 in the first place. I'm getting some enjoyment that Minnesota made them look bad.
Who is your Top 4?
November 10th, 2019 at 12:18 PM ^
What about if Minnesota wins out?
November 10th, 2019 at 12:32 PM ^
Then OSU would not have won out.
If Minnesota finishes 13-0 with wins over Penn State, Iowa, Wisconsin, and Ohio State they are in the playoff as sure as death and taxes. Any predictor metric that says otherwise is wrong.
November 10th, 2019 at 11:45 AM ^
How could you watch Alabama's defense yesterday and think it has a prayer of stopping any of OSU, Clemson, or LSU again?
November 10th, 2019 at 12:16 PM ^
LSU, and especially OSU, I'd agree. Clemson... not so sure. They haven't played anyone at all.
November 10th, 2019 at 12:42 PM ^
Their defense has been consistent all year and their offense has too much talent to fail. Everyone wrote them off too early, imo.
November 10th, 2019 at 11:47 AM ^
Alabama is a good team but not nearly as good as in past years. This year there are several teams that look better.
This is my top 10:
1. LSU
2. OSU
3. Clemson
4. Oregon
5. Georgia
6. Row the boat
7. Alabama
8. Baylor
9. Oklahoma
10. PSU
If Michigan finishes 10-2 they will be in my top 8. Playoffs baby (in the future)!
EDIT: I totally forgot about Oregon. I put them at 4. That 4-team playoff would be incredible to watch, especially OSU - Clemson. But that won't happen because Michigan will knock OSU off and likely out of the playoff.
November 10th, 2019 at 11:48 AM ^
1. LSU
2. Ohio St.
3. Clemson
4. Oregon
5. Alabama (should probably switch places with Oregon, but for now)
6. Oklahoma
7. Baylor
8. Minnesota
9. Georgia
10. Utah
November 10th, 2019 at 11:54 AM ^
1. LSU
2. OSU
3. Clemson
4. Minny (until they lose in the championship)
5. Bama
November 10th, 2019 at 12:42 PM ^
Minnesota still has to play Iowa and Wisconsin. The West is far from won.
November 10th, 2019 at 5:33 PM ^
So you're saying Minnesota would beat Alabama.
November 10th, 2019 at 11:54 AM ^
Top 4-- LSU, OSU, Bama, and Clemson.
Whichever configurations match OSU and Bama in the 1st round. So them at 2 and 3, or 1 and 4 works for me.
November 10th, 2019 at 11:55 AM ^
My only problem with Clemson is their MAC strength of schedule and almost losing to NC. We would be undefeated with that schedule.
November 10th, 2019 at 12:00 PM ^
1) LSU - no reason for them to be behind OSU at this point
2) OSU - still look like the most complete team, but LSU has a far more convincing resume.
3) Clemson - starting to round to form, but I wouldn’t pick them to beat either of the above mentioned teams
4) Georgia - I have them here for now but they could easily lose to Auburn next week and be out of the playoff picture entirely.
November 10th, 2019 at 12:11 PM ^
They had a really close game with Notre Dame:
and lost to South Carolina. Jake Fromm was exposed in that game.
I don't think they deserve top 4. But you don't too. You just have them there for now.
November 10th, 2019 at 12:01 PM ^
1- LSU
2- Ohio St
3- Clemson
4- Oregon
5- Alabama
6- Georgia
7- Oklahoma
8- Minnesota
9- Utah
November 10th, 2019 at 12:20 PM ^
I don't understand why everyone is giving Minnesota so little love. I bet they will be at 5 or 6 in the next playoff ranking. Then if they lose a game they'll drop like a lead zeppelin.
November 10th, 2019 at 3:34 PM ^
I understand that thought, but we’ll learn a lot more about Minnesota in the coming weeks. If they beat Wisconsin and Iowa and then win the Big 10 championship, they’re deserving of a playoff spot
November 10th, 2019 at 4:05 PM ^
In boat rowing right?
November 10th, 2019 at 5:35 PM ^
#8 in the Nation is so little love? There's 130 teams. 122 are ranked lower.
November 10th, 2019 at 12:10 PM ^
1.LSU
2.OSU
3. Clemson
4. Oregon
5. Alabama
November 10th, 2019 at 12:11 PM ^
Not Alabama.
November 10th, 2019 at 12:12 PM ^
Tua threw for 400 yards, he was fine yesterday, Bama had 1 big game at home this year and they lost! They’re done unless LSU stumbles.
1. LSU
2. OSU
3. Clemson
4. Georgia
5. Oregon
6. Bama
November 10th, 2019 at 12:36 PM ^
Imagine what he would have done at 100%.
November 10th, 2019 at 12:24 PM ^
So in your eyes, Bama loses and still manages to go up in the rankings? You’re an ESPN guy I’m guessing?
November 10th, 2019 at 12:37 PM ^
So who's your top 4? You would like to add to the conversation?
November 10th, 2019 at 12:42 PM ^
1. LSU
2. OSU
3. Clemson
4. Oregon
You can’t lose and not be penalized. That’s not how sports work.
November 10th, 2019 at 12:57 PM ^
Oregon has a loss.
November 10th, 2019 at 12:59 PM ^
They lost week 1. Alabama lost yesterday.
November 10th, 2019 at 1:43 PM ^
You said that's not how sports works.
November 10th, 2019 at 12:40 PM ^
So #3 Alabama loses at home and moves up to #2? OSU and LSU are clearly the best 2 teams in college football, even if Tua is at 100%. Alabama should move down to #4 or #5. I would rank it like this:
1. LSU (best win of the year and has played a tough schedule)
2. OSU (huge blowouts in every game they've played)
3. Clemson (weak as hell schedule, but still undefeated and has looked dominant)
4. Alabama (weak schedule, hasn't beaten a ranked team yet)
November 10th, 2019 at 12:43 PM ^
Georgia lost to a bad South Carolina team on their own field. Given what the committee did with Big Ten champ 1-loss OSU last year because of that one Purdue loss, they better not even think of putting Georgia in.
November 10th, 2019 at 4:07 PM ^
And the year before against Iowa.
November 10th, 2019 at 12:49 PM ^
1. LSU
2. OSU
3. Clemson
4. Georgia
#4 is a tough one - it's a very weak vote for the Dawgs.
November 10th, 2019 at 1:11 PM ^
1. LSU
2. Ohio State
3. Clemson
4. Oregon gets the edge here over Georgia
assuming that LSU and Georgia win out, I think that Alabama is eliminated (Alabama lost at home)...or they need both Oregon and Georgia to lose
November 10th, 2019 at 1:16 PM ^
1. LSU
2. Ohio
3. Clemson
4. Bama
5. Georgia
6. Minnesota
November 10th, 2019 at 1:17 PM ^
OPs top 4 will be the final 4 (maybe not in the same order). Alabama will back it's way in because SEC.
November 10th, 2019 at 1:27 PM ^
1) LSU
2) OSU
3) Clemson
4) ??? Could be anyone of at least a half dozen teams. Need more information.
November 10th, 2019 at 1:44 PM ^
I think you were right to put LSU 1. That took something for a Ohio St fan to do.
November 10th, 2019 at 1:30 PM ^
1. LSU
2. OSU
3. Clemson
4. Oklahoma
5. Minnesota
Bama stays home for the first time.
November 10th, 2019 at 1:45 PM ^
Clemson has had an easy schedule. If they played in the SEC or B1G, who knows, perhaps a 1 or 2 loss team at this point. It's all speculation but my point is, we don't know how good Clemson is until play a legit Top 10 team.
I'll take Bama over Clemson right now at #4. Can't underestimate Bama, even in a loss at home. I do question the Bama defense but on offense, they are stacked. Loved they way Nagee played for them.

LSU
Ohio St

Oklahoma/Minnesota/Baylor
7. Georgia/Clemson

OSU salivating at the chance to play LSU's defense
November 10th, 2019 at 3:31 PM ^
Is the OP just trolling? Or did I miss the part where Tua Tagovailova plays defense?
November 10th, 2019 at 4:37 PM ^
1. LSU
2. OSU
3. Minnesota
4. Clemson (because of no quality wins)
November 10th, 2019 at 8:09 PM ^
I still don't really understand the criteria for selection. Is it supposed to be the best teams or the teams with the best resume? Because the best teams are Bama, Clemson, LSU, OSU. But if you're talking about best resumes for this year, you can't include bama or Clemson and OSU would still have work to do
November 10th, 2019 at 9:22 PM ^
1. LSU
2. OSU
3. Clemson
4. Minnesota
5. Penn State
6. Oregon
7. Baylor
8. Georgia
9. Utah
10. Alabama
I don’t understand how anyone has Alabama in the top four. Their best win is to Texas A&M, a 6-3 team. Who have they beat? They need to behind teams that actually have quality wins. Minnesota beating Penn State is way better than any Bama win. Penn State has some quality wins with one loss. Why did they drop so much more due to a loss ON THE ROAD. The Alabama lovefest is disgusting. They aren’t a top team!
