Who should be then Top 4? Who is your Top 4?

Submitted by Ezekiels Creatures on November 10th, 2019 at 11:29 AM

This is my Top 4.

I have Alabama above Ohio St because I think Tua Tagovailoa is still only about 80% recovered from injury. By the time the Playoffs come in January he will be 100%, and Alabama would probably beat both Ohio St and Clemson. LSU, I don't know. Maybe even with Tagovailoa at 100%, on a neutral field, LSU might still win.  Ohio St has looked better than Clemson. So they're at 3.

Now who the coaches, AP, and especially the CFP, picks as the Top 4 will be totally different. It's still strange the CFP ever had Penn St in the Top 4 in the first place. I'm getting some enjoyment that Minnesota made them look bad.

Who is your Top 4?

You have Bama in the top 4!  That’s ridiculous.  This was there first game against a good team.

Clearly LSU is 1 with their schedule. OSU 2 with there performance.  I hate Clemson at 3 because they have played nobody.

Put any of a 1 loss Georgia, Ok,Oregon, or UT above that Clemson BS until they play someone.

and Minnesota is in the conversation with their PSU victory.

I’ll take Georgia at 3 and Oregon at 4.  The Big 12 is sorting themselves out over the next few weeks.

LSU

OSU

Georgia

Oklahoma

I expect 1 team each from the SEC, Big 10, ACC, and Big 12 to make the playoffs but those wont be the four best teams

No way Alabama should be in top 5.  They have played a weak schedule and lost at home.  Who have they beaten?  This year it’s not close and even Paul Finebaum said it ...

Who would you put in front of them?  Georgia (lost at home to South Carolina)?  Baylor (just went to OT w/TCU)?  Oregon?   Penn State?  Minnesota?  Utah?

I don't think that Bama will make the playoffs because they don't have any good wins (yet) and they most likely won't win the SEC, but it's hard to name four better teams at this point in the season.

By the end of the season they're probably going to be in the 4. Alabama always does good in the post season. So they probably belong in. And they get great tv ratings (but oh yeah, that's not a factor).

But Oregon has a real shot at sneaking in, especially if Michigan beats Ohio St.

Alabama always does good in the post season

That's not a reason to rank this year's Alabama team there.  It needs to be judged on what it has done, not what past teams have done.  If you think they're one of the top 4 teams based on what they've done in 2019, OK.

Yes Georgia’s loss is worse, but they have two wins (ND and Florida) that are better than anything on Bama schedule.

PSU also has a better resume and a comparable loss but has looked worse doing so.

Oregon is similarly situated to Bama in they don’t have any great wins

1. LSU

2. OSU

3. CLEMSON

4. GEORGIA

At least Georgia has beat someone. Yes, they lost to South Carolina, but they beat ND and Florida. Alabama has not beat anyone.

Looks good.  However, the former OSU LB who now is on the Big Ten Final Drive program said he thinks OSU should be number one over LSU because OSU has a better resume than LSU and OSU just put up 73 on Maryland.  ?

Wait. Alabama?

their best win so far is Texas A&M and they let up 46 points at home against the only team with a pulse

their BEST case scenario is finishing the season by beating a 4 loss Auburn team

they shouldn’t sniff the playoffs.

1. LSU

- Beating Alabama on the road is the best win for any team in years.

2. OSU

3. Clemson

4. Oregon

5. Alabama

6. Georgia

7. Oregon

8. Utah

9. Oklahoma

10. Baylor

That’s my top 10 right now. After that, I’d have the two loss teams who’ve played hard schedules: Auburn, Florida, us, Wisconsin

EDIT: Forgot Penn State. They’re 11. Then Auburn, Florida, Wisconsin, Michigan, Notre Dame.

Yeah. PSU at the four didn't pass the eye test, and made me question the process. Alabama has clearly been a little bit down for a while now, and it might be healthy if they did not make the playoff. About Clemson we just don't know, and that's a shame. I would say that OSU and LSU should just play for the championship this year, skip the shenanigans.

It's maybe worth noticing that the current system is in part designed to speak to the crazy inequality of schedules and conferences. In that landscape, the rise of a Minnesota or Illinois, the fall of AL, can only be signs of health. What other teams are on the rise/traditional powers falling?

Yeah. PSU at the four didn't pass the eye test, and made me question the process.

The process was "get OSU a killer resume boosting win", but instead the Gophers stole it. Michigan, right now, is a good but not great team that might be able to crest the upper edges of the top 10. PSU isn't even that good.

LSU, OSU, Clemson, Georgia

But the final rankings will be LSU, Clemson, Oklahoma, and Alabama. Cooler poopers will be up in arms again after they're beaten out by a 1 loss SEC team. If I put on my tinfoil hat I suspect the CFB wants to see an LSU-Alabama rematch for the viewz and takez.

Alabama over Ohio State? Lmao get the fuck out.

1. LSU

2. OSU

3. Clemson

4. Oregon

To be clear, I think LSU would beat Oregon easily. However, I think Oregon is better than Georgia and deserves to be ranked 4th right now. If those four teams win out, that should be the playoff.
