Where are the appreciation threads?

Submitted by CLord on

Yes we have every right to complain about the game, but where are the appreciation threads?

1.       Two years ago did any of us imagine we’d land a coach who’d put us a hair’s breadth from going 3-1 against MSU/OSU over the next two years, let alone expecting to win AT Columbus this quickly?

2.       Could any of us have wished for a better coach of intelligence, character and flair to represent our university?

3.       Going into this game, did anyone else still have spread offense nightmares of Donovan McNabb, Armanti Edwards, Dennis Dixon, Troy Smith or Terrell Pryor again manifesting through JT Barrett & Co. as happened last year?  I’d hazard the biggest takeaway from Saturday is that the days of being outcoached and out-schemed by our rivals, especially those with spread attacks, are over.  The effort Saturday by our defense and our coaches was a massive lift for Michigan in terms of program trajectory.

4.       Add standard life, health, friends, family appreciation here as well.

If any of you see our coaches, players or admin officials over the next several months, on behalf of the hundreds of thousands of alumni and Michigan faithful out there, remind them we couldn’t be prouder of them and how they represent our State and our university.

Go Blue.

Okay. But maybe without scolding the board for not doing what you're only doing now? Plus the season isn't over. Michigan still has a bowl game and could make the playoffs with the right breaks. Most people offer tributes after the season.

I especially appreciated Taco Charlton this season. Was bothered by his ankle injury throughout the year, and still had 8.5 sacks in 10 games. He should have also drawn 20+ holding calls.

Tomorrow is his day. And suck a fat one Daytonbuck, I remember you trash talking Taco on Rivals when he chose Michigan. Oh look DB, Taco just sacked JT again.

PLEASE limit the number of appreciation threads, if you must create them, lest we get appreciation threads for the appreciation threads. Let's just hit the highlights, if someone is indeed going to start creating them.

Defense was excellent and did deserve the playoffs. OL never developed, may be they were not as talented as we had thought back in 2012. QB needs to be more consistent. I think we have some great young backs, they just need some holes to run through. It is too bad we did not beat OSU but this season was good! I hope fans understand that next season's team will be young may lose a few more games but after that we should compete every year for the B1G.

I appreciate Jim Harbaugh taking a fine to stand up for injustice in this corrupt Conference. If only he would know throw out the fact that those bad calls were made by OSU diehards then we could maybe get people blasting the B1G for their misdeeds. They deserve to be public knowledge. No conference should get away with that crap.

Appreciate what?

1-3 Vs  Rivals (the win being against one of the worst teams in the conference).

Back to back 3rd place in division finishes.

0 Big Ten Titles

No quality Road Wins

Embarassing antics on and off the field (if you want to act like a spoiled child, you need to win something before doing so at least). The hype and hoopla is growing thin, esp. if there aren't any results to show for it.

No accountability - blame the refs and everyone else for failure. Harbaugh needs to step it up and admit when he screws up (wrong formation at end of game vs sparty, bad playcalling at end of MSU game both years, bad playcalling vs Iowa this year as well as Ohio State this year). Does he not know how  to close out games in the 4th quarter?

I hope he finds some success at some point but so far I feel we've been cheated. 9 Million a year should go way further than 3rd place finishes in division, embarassing record vs rivals and a bunch of negative press.

All we've gotten are spots in second tier bowl games and a bunch of overhype/sizzle but no substance.

I hope I'm not the only person embarassed by his antics?

I appreciate Harbaugh actually voicing his opinion to the refs instead of just standing there clapping like Hoke did. And for wearing a headset, too.
