I don't think you automatically get ejected for two personal fouls, though you do for two unsportsmanlike conduct penalties.

2 Personal fouls aren’t ejections, 2 unsportsmanlike conducts are. So it would depend on the severity of the cheap shot and what the officials decide to call it. The cheap shot on Shea was so egregious that it was an immediate ejection, no questions asked for example.

They tried to bend Caesar Ruiz in half and flagged Michigan for lightly shoving him away as he flopped to the ground. The refs typically don't make consistent calls on shit like this.

Its a near certainty that Panasiuk and State are going to play dirty. I suspect Harbaugh and company are preaching composure and will be working the refs before and during the game to be on the look out for it.
It is typically the player that retaliates that gets flagged. Best to get revenge between the whistles and on the scoreboard.

Yes.
At MSU they confuse "playing hard" for "violence and antagonism" systematically and routinely.
They know no other route to victory - witness that when they had good players, they would still emphasize the cheap shots. Their concept of showing dominance is not playing better or winning, but proving that they can and will hurt their opponents needlessly. They don't conceptualize our rivalry in terms of a contest: they conceptualize it as a fight. They know no other way of playing; when it works they see it as validation, and when it doesn't work they don't see it as a problem of their approach, only of their level of violence.

Am I the only one with officiating nightmares that all seem to happen past 3pm EST? Its strange but its almost without the bright lights the refs are like "screw it lets just call a half assed decent game". Late road games might be the main reason I suppose.

Funny. The only fear I had coming into this game was this very guy Panasiuk harming one of our players. I don't have any sense for this new coach as to whether he's a ruthless prick like Dantonio was or if he is a man of character, so we'll see but I wouldn't be surprised to see a facemask twist circa Denard tomorrow.

i wasn't a big fan of Taylor Lewan for other reasons, but he knew how to stick up for his teammates, with force, if necessary. When it comes to Sparty, you need a little of that.
