What happened to fumbles?

Submitted by Gameboy on November 18th, 2019 at 11:13 AM

To say that this team had some fumble problems early in the season would be an under-statment. Most on this board were going apocalyptic over those fumbles, and were calling for many firings/changes. I did not worry about it, since they are mostly random, figured we would regress to norms.

What do those who thought fumbles were systematic, think about it now? Do you still believe it? Then what changed to reduce fumbles? I really don't see anything they are doing differently.

Maybe we got back to coaching basics, like ball handling?

OP can "handle my balls" for bringing this up!

Thanks for the jinx asshat.

*FYI was it DPJ that started playing loose can dropped one on the carpet?! That shit should have never happened. Still some work to do there 'smalls'.

Also.. learn your INGRISH...

Most of us said they were systemic (not systematic)

And we did put 1 on the carpet... that's 1 too many!

Some of it has to be reversion to the mean. On the other had, Shea did fumble (it went out of bounds) and DPJ fumbled a punt return that Sparty jumped on.

Seems like not nearly the issue it was early in the year, but it's not like we don't fumble anymore.

Nobody likes the guy that says I told you so. That being said...you're right, the worry about fumbles was overblown the first few weeks, and reversion to the mean was to be expected.

What happened to shut your mouth did you ever play sports and have superstitions? This is like when a pitcher is throwing a no no you just shut your mouth and don’t say a word but everyone knows what’s going on

It's OK everyone.  As we all learned in our Michigan physics courses, we can fix this superstition faux pas with countervailing superstitious rituals involving salt or some lucky charms.
