What's Your Top 10 Going Into The Final Week Of The Regular Season?

Submitted by MaizeBlueA2 on November 19th, 2023 at 7:35 AM

Do you drop Michigan for how we looked (note that Texas, Mizzou and Louisville had similar games versus similar caliber opponents)?  Does FSU drop now that Jordan Travis is done for the year?  Is UGA the clear #1 or does anyone think the top two teams are in Ann Arbor next Saturday?

.What does your top 10 look like today?

maybe Louisville jumps Missouri other than that everything stays the same.. there's so many games to play between the top 10. I just don't see the need to move anyone this week

I was thinking why we are not seeing any upsets the last few weeks like we almost always do in November across the country, especially in the top 10.  It's been a weird year of "chalk".  I guess NTOSU beating Oklahoma was an upset but that's a rivalry game and NTOSU is pretty decent.

I thought with the transfer portal it would have spread the wealth a bit more so more upsets not less but seems to not have had an affect.  Or it's just a one off year.

Objectively speaking, I honestly don't get Michigan being favored, even if you factor in the typical 3 or so points for home-field advantage.
OSU is now rated higher in the polls; they had a better game last game out (or two), JJ had a mediocre performance last game; Michigan's pass D look susceptible (to precision passes to great receivers which OSU can provide); several missed or broken tackles; the run game vs Maryland was not great; pass protection by OTs is suspect even if they are healthy; and Michigan is down a couple of coaches (including head coach), and all the sign-stealing related distractions. Everything (except for playing at home) would seem to be to the Buckeye's advantage.

Of course I want everyone to step up this game and blow Ohio State out of the stadium, but I honestly feel that Michigan should be the underdog for this one.

Corporate criminals all. Interlocking directorates. Liberals are down on FOX, but ESPN's happy to fan hatred for clicks and eyeballs; their loyalty to their own product--the SEC--has been a given for some time. (Finebaum is a kind of gleeful corporate whore whose malice I cannot forgive, personally.) Keeping a bit of a distance is good hygiene.

You all have to stop with the mob/cult bullshit...there is enough material to collectively agree..."fuck ESPN."

It's not "ALL"...it's College Football Final that you're referring to.

Pete Fienbaum literally just put Michigan #3 in his rankings on SportsCenter 2 minutes ago.

And he's picking the biggest fight of all with Harbaugh.

Heather Dinnich or whatever her name is also has Michigan in her CFP and she's hated Michigan forever. Long before this recent stuff.

Avoiding a show does not make it a cult. On the same token, picking UM at those spots does not make them saints. They were trash especially Finebaum who can't stick to his feelings and change it based on media narrative. You want to support them. Go right ahead. I am not supporting media hacks.

Florida State lost its QB yesterday.

I'm also keeping my fingers crossed about JJ, Roman and a few others on our O--line.

Washington and Oregon are both good but beatable.  Defenses matter.

Georgia has not looked as strong as the last two years but they are still top dog until someone unseats them and that could be Bama in two weeks.

I've always believed less is more when it comes to college football playoffs but this year is definitely an exception.

I feel like the UW/OU pair is better than the M/OSU pair right now but hard to say for sure. Michigans offense has looked out of sorts for 2 weeks now

No reason to move anyone anywhere.  It was trap weekend, and all the contenders held serve.  Maybe slide Bama up a little because they just demolished that juggernaut Northern Alabama (drive north from Birmingham, and turn left at the big oak tree that Auburn hasn't poisoned yet).  FSU won the game, so they earned the chance to prove that losing Travis won't kill them.

As for Michigan, anyone with a shred of dignity will realize the circumstances they've been tossed into the last few weeks and understand what's happening on the field.  Not only did they have to face a UMD team that was frothing at the mouth to get after them, and the weeks long BS from the media world, but now they also had to play in the face of their own University throwing them and their coach under the bus!

Yes - the Regents, Ono, and Manuel shoved them right in front of that speeding behemoth when they dropped the litigation.  Oh sure, they got up in front of the team and explained what and why, and of course the team 'accepted' it.  What else were they going to say?

What Michigan did yesterday, to me, is more impressive than what they did at Penn St.

I know you are still angry. I am too. But they have their reasons and we don't know all the circumstances. The best UM can do at this point is to extend Harbaugh and work on separating from B1G (or change bylaws and demand more share of the revenue). If they do none in the long term, I would be disappointed. In the mean time, it is best to focus on the team itself and leave anything that comes out of Ono, Warde or BoR alone. My two cents...

Agree with you on the win. It was remarkable the team was able to pull it off with the adversities they faced before the game and also during the game.

Georgia

Michigan

Ohio State

Washington

Florida State

Oregon

Texas

Bama

Louisville

I do think Bama jumps quite a few after they beat Georgia. My assumption is the top 4 will end up being whoever wins between OSU/Michigan, Bama, Washington, Georgia. My CFP looks like this:

Michigan (1) vs Georgia (4)

Washington (2) vs Bama (3)

I am also assuming Florida State loses without Travis. If not I still see them being dropped if Bama beats Georgia.

Agree FSU will lose somewhere without Travis.  I mean, Duke had them until Leonard's ankle went gimpy in the 4th.  But if they earned the #4 spot, they did nothing to lose it Saturday.  I keep them at 4 until they lose.  I'm also of the opinion that Bama will eventually jump Texas.  Not sure why or how yet, but I think it'll happen if it comes down to a question of 1-loss teams.

If UGA loses in the SEC Championship, and Texas wins out, there is no way a sensible human being would jump Texas over UGA with the same record.  Texas has nearly lost two other games this year.  Texas is coached by Mr. don't-fucking-touch-me Mediocrity.  UGA won the title handily in 2021 AFTER losing to Bama in the SEC Championship Game.  UGA deserves the benefit of the doubt, even if Bama beats them (which I doubt is happening).
