What's on the menu?

I was up early getting the smoker up to temp, and now have it loaded with a nice Boston butt, some bacon wrapped meatballs, and cream cheese/sausage stuffed jalapeños. Cracked a Guinness when I realized the Ireland game was on (and because kids were out of control and it's noon somewhere and football!). I ask thee, what you got on the first football Saturday menu?

but all that will be done by noon.   probably have a big egg b-fast for everyone with sour dough toast, cheese, bacon, etc.

berry picking later on the north part of the farm will undoubtedly figure in the menu for the rest of the weekend as there are a ton of berries that have gone unpicked because of football practice for the 4 oldest boys.

i'll do a quick mountain bike ride while they will do the second set of barn chores.   they'll throw their running shoes on, and off we will go.  i suspect it'll be a short run, maybe 3 miles. it is a glorious day here and all over michigan.  we are all jazzed for the game.

Went and got some delmonicos thin sliced. Hit em with seasoning and olive oil. Gonna turn em into some delicious cheese steaks. Went and got the beer this morning and had breakfast with the wife. Gonna be a good opening day and season.

Fancy New York Hot dogs provided by my buddy and jalapeño poppers provided by me. Fresh jalapeños out of my garden, chive cream cheese or bleu cheese, spicy sausage, wrapped in bacon and of course, beer.

Carnitas street tacos with homemade verde sauce and chimichurri. Finished the meat last night and I'm a little disappointed; I usually make my own marinade from scratch and was always pretty proud of it, but this time I used a sauce from a pouch and this is probably the best batch I've ever made. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I bought an Orion and have done ribs several times with great success but first Michigan game it's time to go big dog, beef brisket all the way. Potato salad...ah who cares about the rabbit food.

I have ribs smoking since 6 am. Threw some potatoes and onions cut up into the smoker as well.. and just threw a bunch of freezer burned chicken on so I can spark new life into what would of been wasted meat.

I have been marinating a tri tip for a few days...throwing that bad boy on the grill this afternoon. I have always thought it was odd how tri tip is a West coast thing.

Same old home style tailgate scramble (what I make for my wife and I when we can't be at the game). Scrambled eggs, bacon, cheddar cheese on the oven, mix in hash browns and top with six fried eggs. We can usually tackle about 1/3rd of it. Unless I'm hungover from Friday. Then the whole thing is going down
