Per Warde Manuel... Big Ten Reprimand Due to Fan Touching Mel Tucker

Per Warde...

“We accept the Big Ten Conference’s findings in full. The conference office’s reprimand of U-M was in response to a fan making physical contact with the MSU coach – which is wholly unacceptable. The offender was quickly identified and swiftly ejected from the Stadium by our Event Team. In addition, to reduce the possibility of future incidents, we proactively implemented changes ahead of our final home game by increasing security personnel in areas around the playing surface. Security and procedural reviews will remain a constant focal point of future event planning and reviews."

Have you spent any time on RCMB lately because God help me, I have.   There I have learned that they honestly and truly believe the following:

1. The Michigan players started the whole thing and the Spartan 8 were just responding to being provoked by them.

2. That actual film of the Michigan players starting the altercation exists but a consortium of pro-Michigan media and police officials have successfully buried it.

3. That charges were going to be filed against the Michigan instigators but the "blue wall" managed to have that suppressed.

4. That it was nothing more than a minor scuffle between two players and that the tough MSU player got the better of it so the soft Michigan player whined about losing.

There's actually more even insane shit than this on their board but those four talking points have been universally accepted as truth by everyone there or at least nobody there has the balls to challenge it publicly.

"or at least nobody there has the balls to challenge it publicly"

Well, no one wants the dreaded "Walvie" tag, which, in addition to of course Michigan fans, is also what they hilariously call each other when even obvious longtime Sparty slappies say something insufficiently delusional and too grounded in reality and sanity for that batshit, mouth-frothing fever swamp.

What frustrates me on this Izzo crap is that the talk is all about the lack of security. However, UM did indeed increase security. You can see security personnel in most of the video versions of the assaults.

In one version of the McBurrows assault you can see a Michigan State Trooper standing a foot away but does nothing to intervene. If a Michigan State Trooper isn't going to intervene why should anyone expect security personnel to do so??

It seems a bit misleading for the Big Ten to write the statement the way they did.  The fan touching Mel should be viewed as a completely separate incident.

Instead, it gives the impression that somehow Michigan bears responsibility for the tunnel assault, which is false.

And Michigan’s tunnel is suddenly the biggest villain in college football.

Did you hear Todd Blackledge during the Illinois game?  Bert was complaining that Michigan was taking too long to go out for the third quarter so Blackledge actually said, “Michigan’s going to need to address this problem with the tunnel.”

Get the hell over yourself.  95 years of nothing and suddenly the tunnel is this huge problem.

Penn State could try to not act like preschoolers, MSU could try not to act like a bunch of thugs and Bert can wait another 5 minutes.  Address that.

"Penn State could try to not act like preschoolers." Hey, lay off the preschoolers.

PSU may be apprentices of immaturity but certain MSUers are masters. At the end of the day immaturity is MSU's one shining, uh, virtue. Tom Izzo blaming his players and taking no personal responsibility for losses, Mark Dantonio (a football coach) getting into a tizzy because Mike Hart (a freaking student) called him something mean, players committing assault over nothing, and an administration that's silent when egregious/disgusting behavior occurs but has a screaming tantrum every time minor "incidents" happen.

Preschoolers? I know infants that are more mature than MSU and PSU. And if I have to choose whose shit to have to handle, I'll take the infant's any day.
