Walker & Crawford
As long as any iteration of mgoblog has umbig11. That's the most important thing
Trying out the new site.
I don’t think that worked. I don’t see anything.
I hear ya. I’m Going to need a tutorial for this new site. Looks like there is no upvoting either.
Jordan Strack should have let Crawford and Walker announce their intentions publicly instead of trying to steal their thunder to be relevant.....Even Harbaugh said he would let the players announce it.
I kind of agree with this. Harbaugh said it would be their choice if they wanted to, and even if they did not, the roster would confirm it. Strack just seemed to want internet clout by outing their intentions SMH.
He is a reporter who gets paid to report on sports. If he has the inside info, it's his job to report it. Totally different than someone who covers recruiting and knows someone is going to commit but waits to let them announce.
They had a couple of days to make any announcement they wanted to make. Inquiring minds shouldn't have to wait until a formal roster change is published to learn who is going to be on the team.
so those 2 are a done deal then?
Is Crawford the one you meant when you said one would surprise, or is that the 3rd one still coming?
OK - sad to see him go, but surviveable
Really bummed about Kareem, Crawford too but understandable
Aren't they both understandable at this point?
Walker just never seemed to get the whole student athlete thing down. Just seemed to have a tough time adjusting. It might be better for him to attend a school that is not as tough academically where he can find a little better balance.
Crawford I think is just getting lost in the crowd and falling down the depth chart, younger guys passing him up and think he realizes if he wants to play he needs to go elsewhere.
Blows my mind. These kids get a degree thrown at them and yet some still can’t make it.
OT but didn't want to create a new thread about it - Justin Rogers leaves UM and MSU out of his top group
I’m not quite ready to worry about a 2020 recruit at this point.
if M has a good season they will get a good look from an in-state kid.
Jim Harbaugh referenced 2 players leaving Michigan yesterday...I’m told that internet speculation is true: Kareem Walker & Kekoa Crawford are transferring.

Mobile plus one. ?
Damn. I really wish Walker would've been the one to break the 5-star RB curse at Michigan. :(
He had some Hip issues that followed him here. That along with some other things that kept him back.
Seems like the 5-star RBs either break out right away or never produce at all.
Is there a third still coming?
on the OL?
Yes, no surprises. It will be fine.
Is Newsome officially done? That would be disappointing after all the effort to come back
Ulizio leaving for FSU to be with Greg Frey.
Has to be Ulizio.
Not at all surprised by either of them, so I'm glad your 'surprise' was one of them.... I was thinking more along the lines of 'Beilein-to-Pistons' bad
Beilein isn't going anywhere. He's BLUE!
I want to upvote!!
I know, but the initial shock of that when it first came out.... Like eating bad Mexican food
If umbig11 says it then it must be true!!
Beilein leaving makes no sense to me, but then again, a lot that the Pistons do makes no sense.
Makes sense. Both had been buried on the depth chart. Crawford for performance and Kareem for both performance and off-the-field stuff. Kareem goes down as a pretty epic bust.
I can’t call either of them ‘busts’, they just need to move on to better opportunities. It’s like having to fire someone who can’t perform on the job or doesn’t fit in. It does neither party any good to keep someone around if they can do better elsewhere. Best of luck to both of them.
We will be fine! Those who stay will be champions!
Good thing I didn't look at Kareem's twitter account or I'd be surprised about this.
Test
No surprise, but disappointed to lose two guys with lots of physical skills. Their PT seemed like a challenge with the depth at WR and RB so hopefully they find PT and success elsewhere.
That's disappointing. Everyone had high hopes for both these guys when they signed. A recent 247 article with Crawford's sky high drop rate over 19% pretty much sums up what everyone thought about him last year. He seemed to regress.
Also I doubt the OL is Ulizio since he could grad transfer after this season. If it's an underclassman interior guy that makes sense why the recruiting class could have up to 7 OL with 4 OG.
Test
I stopped at the McDonalds on Stadium near Maple the night before the Maryland game in 2016. Kareem was there with Shelton Johnson. It was surprising to see two players out (they walked there it appeared) so late on a game night, even though they both were redshirting.
Kareem also had some killer dance moves at the Blue Lep the night of the Spring game in 2016.
That's pretty far from campus.
Bummer to lose them but given the fact that they’re both buried on the depth chart it makes sense.
Michigan’s 5* RB curse continues.
So many said Brandon Peters.
Peters will be around for fall camp.
Am I reading too much into your comment?
Will he be at Michigan beyond fall camp If he does not earn the starting job?
