USC Sanctions 11PM PST

Submitted by karpodiem on

From Rivals Mainboard. Does this mean we win the 2004 Rose Bowl? It wasn't during the 2004 season, so probably not.

- loss of 15 scholarships over 3 years starting 2012
- postseason ban for 2010 & 2012
- vacate all games from 2004 & 2005 season
- 5 year probation

Now I have conflicting reports between you and BlazeFire. I'm thinking a 10 minute cage match could probably settle this for us.

In all honesty, I don't see how they couldn't take the loss from us.

"Who'd you lose to?"
"USC"
"How much did they beat you by?"
"Who said anything about them beating us?"

It would just blow my mind.

The NCAA did not go back and tell 100+ schools that lost to us in the Ed Martin years to change their season records.  They won't do that for USC, either.  The games are only vacated on SC's end.  (And really, they're not vacated; they'll just put an asterisk next to the season record.)  To take the game away from us would be unfair to everyone who participated and recorded statistics.

to masturbate to. Most normal guys think of ________ (insert your hottie of choice) when they want to yank their own chain, but I guess there's always going to be some weirdo who gets a woody over imagined NCAA penalties.

Interesting. I wonder what that would mean to Bush's heisman in 05 and if they would take the same stance.  Weird to think that nobody would have won the heisman that year then.

Please, please drop the hammer on those smug sons of bitches.  I only wish Pete Carroll was still around to feel the sting.

close to a real "hammer". If I was a HC, I would willingly give up 5 schollie's a year for 3 years to pay a guy like reggie bush and undoubtedly tons of other 5 start blue chippers they landed over the decade.

I want the NCAA to ban their marching band from all games for a few years.  It woldn't be a huge loss for their team, but it would be a huge favor/benefit to the rest of the world.

I kind of have my doubts that these are real sanctions (11 PM PST seems late for an announcement), especially if the NCAA finds that USC knew about these types of payments.  UM was pillored for years because of a similar scandal, and these sanctions do not seem to match that type of infraction.  I fully expect USC to slide with relatively minimal punishment, but this doesn't sound right to me.

I just checked the Rivals main board and the following are all titles of threads on their most recent page:

Better steak place... Ruth Chris or Mortons?

Teacher Fired for Wrestling with Football Player in Classroom(Video)

Pool parties in Las Vegas

These girls know how to have a good time

POLL: Miranda Kerr

Black outs from drinking. Question for the board

I need to get a Rivals subscription apparently.

The bread crumbs that the NCAA has found in this investigation probably lead to the tip of a very large freaking iceberg on the coast of Cali.  Here's to hoping that the punishment fits the crime: who knows with the NCAA.

Their basketball team did get hit with a ban and some sanctions for the Mayo incident.  Weird that that investigation was concluded much faster than this one.. so when it comes to SC football, you may have a point.
