USC Sanctions 11PM PST
From Rivals Mainboard. Does this mean we win the 2004 Rose Bowl? It wasn't during the 2004 season, so probably not.
- loss of 15 scholarships over 3 years starting 2012
- postseason ban for 2010 & 2012
- vacate all games from 2004 & 2005 season
- 5 year probation
made it up. it's not real, we're still waiting
So.. who is right here, 0bes or the OP?
The next person who asks if we get to win the Rose Bowl against USC over this gets e-slapped in the face.
neg-banging should fix that issue...
Do we win the Rose Bowl? I was at that game and the second half sucked.
just kidding :-D
No, we do not win the game. Vacating does not mean forfeiting,
It's been said on this board that even if the NCAA took away USC's Rose Bowl win over us, they wouldn't give it to us, It would essentially nullify the game.
but still BS.
Why would you want that win anyway? It's not like they played with ineligible players or somehow cheated in the actual game.
No, it would be BS to give us an undeserved win. USC would have beaten us just the same had Bush not played.
Just to clarify, does it take away the loss?
The results of the game would be Nullified. M would have appeared in that game, with no W-L record to show for it.
not in the minds of the players on the field.
No, it's still a loss for us. It's only vacated in SC's record books. Not anyone else's.
Now I have conflicting reports between you and BlazeFire. I'm thinking a 10 minute cage match could probably settle this for us.
In all honesty, I don't see how they couldn't take the loss from us.
"Who'd you lose to?"
"USC"
"How much did they beat you by?"
"Who said anything about them beating us?"
It would just blow my mind.
The NCAA did not go back and tell 100+ schools that lost to us in the Ed Martin years to change their season records. They won't do that for USC, either. The games are only vacated on SC's end. (And really, they're not vacated; they'll just put an asterisk next to the season record.) To take the game away from us would be unfair to everyone who participated and recorded statistics.
This makes sense.
Are these self-imposed or coming down from the NCAA?
They shot down USC's request to self-impose sanctions.
I suppose that would raise the winning percentage up a bit.
to masturbate to. Most normal guys think of ________ (insert your hottie of choice) when they want to yank their own chain, but I guess there's always going to be some weirdo who gets a woody over imagined NCAA penalties.
Maybe the beauty polls with Kiffin vs (insert hot woman) put him over the top and now he's hung up on Kiffin?

Apparently you haven't heard of the RCMB.

no reason yeah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Interesting. I wonder what that would mean to Bush's heisman in 05 and if they would take the same stance. Weird to think that nobody would have won the heisman that year then.
OJ didn't have his Heisman revoked by the Downtown Athletic Club. I don't expect Bush to lose his either.
OJ is still hot on the trail of the killer
Man In The Mirror
All today's "OMG the children" focus will move off us to a program that really deserves it.
Is any of what Rivals said true? Is there even an announcement scheduled for today?
Eastern on any pending announcement. Is any non-message board, quasi-real outlet reporting this that anyone can point me to?
Also, 11 PM PST seems like an very odd time to announce.
Please, please drop the hammer on those smug sons of bitches. I only wish Pete Carroll was still around to feel the sting.
close to a real "hammer". If I was a HC, I would willingly give up 5 schollie's a year for 3 years to pay a guy like reggie bush and undoubtedly tons of other 5 start blue chippers they landed over the decade.
I want the NCAA to ban their marching band from all games for a few years. It woldn't be a huge loss for their team, but it would be a huge favor/benefit to the rest of the world.

The punishment needs to be firm.
and investigate the cause of the infraction.
I have already formed a committee to investigate the infraction. It is located in my pants.
to serve on the aforementioned committee.

She must work out.
I kind of have my doubts that these are real sanctions (11 PM PST seems late for an announcement), especially if the NCAA finds that USC knew about these types of payments. UM was pillored for years because of a similar scandal, and these sanctions do not seem to match that type of infraction. I fully expect USC to slide with relatively minimal punishment, but this doesn't sound right to me.
I just checked the Rivals main board and the following are all titles of threads on their most recent page:

Black outs from drinking. Question for the board
I need to get a Rivals subscription apparently.
The bread crumbs that the NCAA has found in this investigation probably lead to the tip of a very large freaking iceberg on the coast of Cali. Here's to hoping that the punishment fits the crime: who knows with the NCAA.
I'm surprised the NCAA is even punishing them. They had always gotten away with everything before.
Their basketball team did get hit with a ban and some sanctions for the Mayo incident. Weird that that investigation was concluded much faster than this one.. so when it comes to SC football, you may have a point.
USC never breaks the rules. *Rolls eyes*
I know other people have asked, but it seems like they were ignored. Is this for real? I can't find anything legit about this.
