RR and Arizona in the Fiesta bowl against Boise St.
EDIT: Okay, I posted this before the post became highly informative. I suppose you have already read what I said... So... Here's this:

Sparty better work on their secondary- didn't do so well against Bucks
December 7th, 2014 at 3:12 PM ^
I would love to see Baylor hang about 50 on Sparty. I know it wouldn't be all that great for the conference, but it would be great for everything else.
December 7th, 2014 at 7:10 PM ^
Little bro has played two teams of this quality and got waxed both times. Here's hoping for a third, with a heapin' helpin' of holiday couch burnings tossed in.

This is the OFFICIAL thread.
Thanks.

I was trying to be "in before" this joke was made and you ruined it. Thanks a lot!

Boise vs Zona in the Fiesta
MSU(ntmsu) vs GaTech in the Orange.
December 7th, 2014 at 2:58 PM ^
BIG sold Sparty down the river to keep all BIG teams in bowls. That won't sit well in EL.
December 7th, 2014 at 2:59 PM ^
They get to play on New Year's Day against a great team. Who cares if it's a home game for Baylor. If they're playing in the Rose Bowl it's a home game for the Pac 12 team.
Also, the B1G didn't pick these games. The selection committee did.

Michigan on the sideline be damned, I know so many Sparties at work who had all but booked tickets to Miami, so this is hilarious for me.

...and it's better than the Holiday bowl that they would've been in before.
In past year's the Peach Bowl (or Chick-Fil-A Bowl) would've been something like Clemson vs. LSU this year. So TCU/Ole Miss is a much better matchup rankings wise.
December 7th, 2014 at 3:43 PM ^
It does make you wonder doesn't it? TCU had more wins over top 25 teams than Ohio State, and their only loss was to at the time #5 Baylor.

I actually feel sorry for Sparty. Having lived in Dallas, it's not a great place around New Year's - no palm trees, no beach. It could even snow. I wouldn't vacation there.

CMU has accepted a bid to the Popeye's Bahamas Bowl played in Nassau.
December 7th, 2014 at 3:19 PM ^
The Official Bowl? What a shitty name for a bowl. It's also pretty early for bowl games.
December 7th, 2014 at 3:24 PM ^
Western Michigan has accepted a bid to the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl.
Bowling Green will face South Alabama in the Raycom Media Camellia Bowl.
Northern Illinois will face Marshall in the Boca Raton Bowl.
Toledo and Arkansas State will clash in the GoDaddy Bowl.

Which is reasonable, because all of this is enough to give anyone a headache.
The Cotton and Peach bowls are now more prestigious than in years past. They're considered BCS level bowls unlike before.
They are basically replacing the Sugar and Rose since those two bowls are part of the playoff.
So your "BCS" bowls this year are Cotton, Peach, Fiesta and Orange.
Next year the Orange and the Cotton are excluded...so your "BCS bowls" will be: Sugar, Rose, Peach and Fiesta.
All they did was make 2 more bowls BCS calibur to make up for the 2 bowls that they lose to the playoff.
December 7th, 2014 at 3:35 PM ^
Not a good matchup at all for Sparty. They'll be able to score, too, but not enough.
December 7th, 2014 at 3:39 PM ^
You should just keep changing the title...
What is this 4 times now?
Is this the hour we discuss Baylor/MSU? If so, what time is Boise/Arizona?
In all seriousness...why not just say Bowl Games Open Thread? Or Bowl Games Announcement Thread? It's more than just Baylor/MSU...right?

This is no longer the OFFICIAL thread.
Carry on with your day.

If Michigan won another the game, they would've had to face C-USA runner-up Louisiana Tech in the Heart of Dallas Bowl.
December 7th, 2014 at 4:18 PM ^
We probably win that game and Hoke keeps his job.

We as Michigan fans don't have much else going for us, so I figure rooting for a Bama blowout is all we got.

Get revenge for us Les!!!!!!!!!!
December 7th, 2014 at 5:38 PM ^
Rutgers moved from the Heart of Dallas Bowl to the Quick Lane Bowl vs North Carolina, and replacing Rutgers in Dallas will be Illinois. The Illini will take on Louisiana Tech.
That would be us if we were bowl eligible. NC put up something like 50 on Notre Dame. We would not have enjoyed that. Either will Rutgers.

I have to admit, these are actually mostly very interesting games. Much better than most years. All 6 of those big bowls should be great and many others will as well. Will anyone score in the LSU-ND game? OU-Clemson could actually be interesting if you don't like either team. And Maryland vs Stanford somehow seems fitting for the two of them. The Big Ten could actually do decently this year. I'm not about to rule out MSU and OSU yet, either.
December 7th, 2014 at 7:00 PM ^
I know, get off my lawn--but they were saying that they wanted to "bring back" the wonderful experience that New Years used to be, with only the best games played. And there are great games here on New Years. But there should be zero games after New Year--every stupid bowl on after that cheapens the New Year's Bowl games IMO. If New Year's Day are the best games, then no teams deserves to play after them. The bowls should all lead up to New Years games, after which silence until the Championship game. Rant over.
December 7th, 2014 at 7:47 PM ^
Surprised no one has mentioned this already.
Very sad.
December 7th, 2014 at 7:54 PM ^
So at least Wisconsin won't be so shell shocked when Auburn puts up 60 on them since they had a dress rehearsal for it last night. Only difference is that they'll probably put up 30 points of their own.
