RR and Arizona in the Fiesta bowl against Boise St.

EDIT: Okay, I posted this before the post became highly informative. I suppose you have already read what I said... So... Here's this:

Little bro has played two teams of this quality and got waxed both times. Here's hoping for a third, with a heapin' helpin' of holiday couch burnings tossed in.

Freep had reported Sparty to the Orange was about a done deal. But this makes the Cotton a barnburner, no? The butthurt bowl? Baylor because they think they won the Big 12, and Sparty because Dantonio is perpetually indignant.

I actually feel sorry for Sparty.  Having lived in Dallas, it's not a great place around New Year's - no palm trees, no beach.  It could even snow.  I wouldn't vacation there.

Western Michigan has accepted a bid to the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl.

Bowling Green will face South Alabama in the Raycom Media Camellia Bowl.

Northern Illinois will face Marshall in the Boca Raton Bowl.

Toledo and Arkansas State will clash in the GoDaddy Bowl.

Which is reasonable, because all of this is enough to give anyone a headache.

The Cotton and Peach bowls are now more prestigious than in years past. They're considered BCS level bowls unlike before.

They are basically replacing the Sugar and Rose since those two bowls are part of the playoff.

So your "BCS" bowls this year are Cotton, Peach, Fiesta and Orange.

Next year the Orange and the Cotton are excluded...so your "BCS bowls" will be: Sugar, Rose, Peach and Fiesta.

All they did was make 2 more bowls BCS calibur to make up for the 2 bowls that they lose to the playoff.

You should just keep changing the title...

What is this 4 times now?

Is this the hour we discuss Baylor/MSU? If so, what time is Boise/Arizona?

In all seriousness...why not just say Bowl Games Open Thread? Or Bowl Games Announcement Thread? It's more than just Baylor/MSU...right?

If Michigan won another the game, they would've had to face C-USA runner-up Louisiana Tech in the Heart of Dallas Bowl.

I would love nothing more than to watch Amari Cooper torch OSU's secondary, and then watch a combo of Derrick Henry/TJ Yeldon run wild all night. I hope some Bama defensive back throws an OSU WR around like a rag toll like Milliner did to Roundtree a few years ago.

We as Michigan fans don't have much else going for us, so I figure rooting for a Bama blowout is all we got.

Rutgers moved from the Heart of Dallas Bowl to the Quick Lane Bowl vs North Carolina, and replacing Rutgers in Dallas will be Illinois. The Illini will take on Louisiana Tech.

That would be us if we were bowl eligible.  NC put up something like 50 on Notre Dame.  We would not have enjoyed that. Either will Rutgers.

I have to admit, these are actually mostly very interesting games. Much better than most years. All 6 of those big bowls should be great and many others will as well. Will anyone score in the LSU-ND game? OU-Clemson could actually be interesting if you don't like either team. And Maryland vs Stanford somehow seems fitting for the two of them. The Big Ten could actually do decently this year. I'm not about to rule out MSU and OSU yet, either.

I know, get off my lawn--but they were saying that they wanted to "bring back" the wonderful experience that New Years used to be, with only the best games played. And there are great games here on New Years. But there should be zero games after New Year--every stupid bowl on after that cheapens the New Year's Bowl games IMO. If New Year's Day are the best games, then no teams deserves to play after them. The bowls should all lead up to New Years games, after which silence until the Championship game. Rant over.

So at least Wisconsin won't be so shell shocked when Auburn puts up 60 on them since they had a dress rehearsal for it last night.   Only difference is that they'll probably put up 30 points of their own.
