UM offers 2020 4* QB CJ Stroud
He was the Elite 11 MVP and is the top uncommitted QB in the country.

Wisconsin tried it on Fields. He only threw 2 TDs in a downpour, didn’t seem overly bothered by them showing man and dropping into zone.
They confused the hell out of Shea with it. Let’s hope OSU doesn’t do it to us...

Gotta open that Rancho Cucamonga pipeline.

Nice! Hope we can pull him in. Wonder if we'll try and re-recruiting some other guys who ended up elsewhere like Parker McQuarrie

Well, we just had a qb recruit retire, So there’s that....

Normally it wouldn’t be hard to poach a kid looking at a 2 QB class. Problem 1, it’s OSU. Problem 2, Day and Stroud’s QB guru are very tight. Problem 3, they have an attractive depth chart and ours isn’t so pretty.
OSU has a wide open competition in 2021 so they’re pitching Miller and Stroud on a year in Day’s system and a shot at the job. One or both will play as true FR and it’s likely either guy could beat out the only returning back up for ‘20.
We have McCaffery, Milton and McNamara next year as it stands now. Our depth chart isn’t very attractive to a QB, especially with McCarthy on deck. Plus his name doesn’t begin with M.

I would think being the only QB in a top ten class at a program like Michigan would be very attractive. Milton and McNamara are unknowns. Hell one might transfer or other variables.
If McCaffery wins the job, which is likely you get to redshirt and then compete for the depth chart. That’s two full years to prepare your run for the job.

Well there’s always the transfer portal if things don’t work out in Columbus the way he wants them to.

I’m sure Riley would help him win a Heisman.

Would you pocket that scholie for, say, a DT? Given our QB room is getting crowded and McCarthy coming in the next class that’ll most likely be better than anyone on the roster.

That assumes that taking a QB in 2020 would steal a spot from an additional DT who would make a significant impact. That's a massive stretch.

Why start an entire thread about an offer out to a QB with 100% CBs to our primary rival whose personal QB coach also trained their current QB and most recent past QB?

I suppose because we lost our 2020 recruit to a heart condition and even though a recruiting service says he is leaning OSU he is the only uncommitted top ten prospect on the board.
I guess you could have saved Harbaugh the time. If he only knew Bill Keurlic CB’d him to OSU...

I happen to know this kid as he is my son’s friend and they bother RC High. This kid can sling it and he’s getting better and better. I’ve been on this board for years talking about Rancho Cucamonga and the recruits that come out of this league every year. He plays in quite possibly one of the 3-4 best leagues in California. The competion in our league for Football, Baseball and Basketball is unreal. CIF Champs, State Champs are regular w all the schools. Justin Flow from Upland is in this league as well, #1 LB Recruit in the country. Just saying he plays vs D1 talent every week. Still can’t see why we haven’t hit this league harder as I’m connected w this league and do not see UM presence there to much. I do see lots of PAC12 especially Oregon and Washington, (Oregon has a ton of Rancho kids) and I see Oklahoma and OSU there a lot the last 5-6 years. Just saying, the league has tons of talent and the kid can play. Hopefully he stays out West here if we can’t snag him.
