WTF is this in every thread. Damn
September 17th, 2022 at 4:58 PM ^
fuck, he’s back.
September 17th, 2022 at 5:19 PM ^
double post. i ain’t sorry.
September 17th, 2022 at 3:29 PM ^
The coaching was satisfactory.
September 17th, 2022 at 3:33 PM ^
Happy for Harbaugh that he likely broke his goal of the player participation record today
September 17th, 2022 at 9:05 PM ^
Every QB got to play and there was an Orji in the end zone. That’s coaching!
September 18th, 2022 at 8:00 AM ^
Seven QB's saw the field and all seven completed a pass. That's got to be near record territory.
September 18th, 2022 at 7:49 PM ^
8 played 7 completed passes.
September 17th, 2022 at 3:35 PM ^
Over 100 played for Michigan. Total domination for 4 quarters. Wish Cade had not taken that hit on the pass he completed, but that's not coaching. Everybody played and ate well today.
September 17th, 2022 at 3:36 PM ^
Managed the game so well that, even scoring 59 points, they didn't embarrass UConn.
THAT is some good coaching.
September 17th, 2022 at 3:44 PM ^
Great coaches. Have a legitimate opportunity to repeat as B1G champions. Got a lot out of this game and I am sure they will shore up a few busts they saw today. Looking forward to the next game.
September 17th, 2022 at 4:02 PM ^
Honest question: Why all the short stuff in the passing game? Concern about the pass pro? Making sure JJ has touch on short passes for when they are needed?
September 17th, 2022 at 4:25 PM ^
Dunno. But OSU does that shit every game and their soon to be NFL WRs get so much YAC. Nice to see Michigan do it as well.
September 18th, 2022 at 7:43 AM ^
Keeps the downfield throws off film for other teams. Fortunately, OSU still throws downfield against zone defenses and softer teams, so now the rest of the B1G East knows how to stop them.
I wish they’d have tried some more aggressive passing as well, even against zone. We'll see next week.
September 17th, 2022 at 4:26 PM ^
I am pretty sure they "turtled" at times on purpose. They converted 9 of 13 third downs.
JJ is 30/34 passing this year-just sayin'.
September 17th, 2022 at 4:47 PM ^
In the game previews this week it was noted that uConn plays off with 8-10 years cushion and drops the rest of the defenders into heavy zone. The UM offense took the easy yards, exactly what they were supposed to do. Well scouted and well executed.
September 17th, 2022 at 5:27 PM ^
8-10 years is a huge cushion!
September 17th, 2022 at 5:42 PM ^
Hahahaha good call out, damn autocorrect. Will leave for fun.

The EDIT button appears after 2000 MGoPoints.
September 17th, 2022 at 4:05 PM ^
I mean idk what to say. Short passing game is annoying, no throws to andrel or Cornelius. Both are used for the run game pretty much. Andrel is a weapon that they don’t know how to use..
September 17th, 2022 at 8:02 PM ^
So you're annoyed by 59-0? JFC...
September 17th, 2022 at 8:12 PM ^
Guy is insufferable.
September 17th, 2022 at 8:17 PM ^
That was largely dictated by the defense.
September 17th, 2022 at 8:18 PM ^
I'm pretty sure that they went to Johnson early. He fell on his out route, which is a great way to give up a pick-6.
September 18th, 2022 at 12:29 AM ^
Maybe next week we’ll call the touchdown play more often.
September 17th, 2022 at 4:13 PM ^
They get an A+ because they kept the players focused for all 60 minutes and on offense, defense and special teams. Play calling was as expected by showing the entire book.
The coaching staff treated this game like it really mattered.
September 17th, 2022 at 5:00 PM ^
This was the most penalties they've taken, and it was only 4 (1, 3, 4). Some may mention the two time outs in the first half, but I've seen worse. 1-1/2 bits of yakety sax on defense. They're organized.
September 18th, 2022 at 7:46 AM ^
I’m all for taking 1st half timeouts when you think you need to.
It’s the blown 2nd half timeouts in close games that are the most enraging. Haven’t seen those from UM in awhile though.
September 17th, 2022 at 5:06 PM ^
A+. Team was energized and disciplined for all 60. A lot of guys played and it didn’t look like the two deep had any injuries (Cade’s status is questionable). 7 QBs with a completion - that must be close to an NCAA record.
September 17th, 2022 at 6:08 PM ^
Cade out a few weeks with a leg issue. :(
September 17th, 2022 at 6:34 PM ^
Putting DJ Turner in to return a punt was the only coaching negative for me. We don't need that guy injured.
September 17th, 2022 at 7:01 PM ^
I don't even remember if I have the number right, but every time I see "DJ Turner" I think 4.38.
Mazi Smith = 33 reps with 320.
People shouldn't be reduced to numbers unless the numbers get you on the freaks list.
September 17th, 2022 at 7:33 PM ^
I repeat: Jay Harbaugh for the Broyles Award.
September 18th, 2022 at 7:48 AM ^
Miami probably won’t poach him though, after the last one they stole from UM put up 9 points with a 1st round QB.
September 17th, 2022 at 8:02 PM ^
Anyone else concerned we aren't throwing for more than 12 yards? Head they kept their dbs back but, that's the time to get some practice in...for fear of being rusty later...
September 18th, 2022 at 7:49 AM ^
Yes. Though no one wanted to hear it yesterday. Understandable after a 59-0 win.
I bet it comes up more throughout the week and especially if it continues into conference play.
September 18th, 2022 at 8:05 AM ^
I wasn't at the game, but I would guess the UConn DB's were playing back and giving a lot of cushion. Michigan took what they were given.
September 18th, 2022 at 9:08 AM ^
JJ has already shown he’s willing to go deep in previous games. Unless it starts happening on a week to week basis, I’m guessing this was just part of this week’s gameplan. UConn was giving a lot of cushion and it seemed like they wanted to try keeping everything in front of them.
Harbaugh was probably just content with taking what an overmatched opponent was going to give him.
September 17th, 2022 at 8:15 PM ^
2 time outs in the 1st quarter, but it was the right call both times. Good jerb. Noticed lots of motion and "speed-in-space" to open things up because Uconn was playing 5-7 in coverage bend-then-break defense. Again, good jerb.
September 17th, 2022 at 9:11 PM ^
In the second half, the first string was saying “the took our herbs” while hoisting chairs.
September 18th, 2022 at 12:18 AM ^
It was the right call, but it's a bit of a concern that they couldn't get the play call and personnel in on time. But, I'm sure that is something being discussed and worked on so it doesn't happen moving forward.
September 17th, 2022 at 11:39 PM ^
Jay Harbaugh is a star. I could go on about the rest of the staff but I don't feel like typing all that. I hope Jay stays for a long time.
September 18th, 2022 at 1:44 AM ^
A very Harbaugh type game. Don't show anything special. Us a combination of runs and short passes.
September 18th, 2022 at 11:13 AM ^
Cornelius Johnson was not targeted even once?
September 18th, 2022 at 11:22 AM ^
Once that I recall, but I too was concerned he wasn’t getting more thrown his way, especially after Brian’s pre-season build-up of him, and also among reports that he may be getting frustrated that he’s not being targeted more. The good news is that we have a very deep WR room; the bad news is there’s only one ball. I was intrigued by how many touches Henning got yesterday, and wonder if that’s a coaching decision or a JJ one.
September 18th, 2022 at 1:21 PM ^
It's pretty much a given that Harbaugh will continue to underuse the passing game. It's going to cost us at least 1 or 2 good receivers in the transfer portal.
