It's really BS that they put 6-day holds on games like MSU/Indiana and Purdue/NW.

A 6-day hold on Michigan --- I get it, find the optimal time for TV ratings and money.

Those other games, though --- there are diehards, family and friends who want to be there. And now we put them on hold from making plans for another 6 days.  And for what?

I suspect that's exactly what this is.  Looking over the rest of the games that are currently either set for noon or unscheduled, I don't see any matchups FOX would pick outside of the Pac-12, which isn't going to schedule 9 AM kicks.  Cincinnati @ WVU and Baylor @ TCU don't have any intrigue.  FOX doesn't have an SEC contract, so they can't pick up Georgia @ Tennessee.

K-State @ Kansas is a potential Top 25 matchup, I guess, but I can't imagine any FOX exec would pick that over an undefeated Michigan in its last tune-up for OSU.

So I suspect it's win-and-you're-at-noon.

Same, as I was considering driving out there for it. From Columbus, that's going to be about 6-7 hours depending on traffic, how many times I stop, etc. It really be helpful to know if I could plan to leave the morning of, or if I'd need to come in the night before and get a hotel.

My basic point is this: why can't CFB announce game times ahead of the season like every other sport in the world? It's so irritating. Even when you're not going to a game, it would help when you're simply trying to plan ahead.

Get your point, but 52 v Minny and 49 v MSU (with 7 taken off board at the half) were pretty good... What's true is that 2 of the 4 least-impressive were night games (other 2 being ECU and UNLV to start season) and 2 of 4 night games (BGSU & Purdue) were less impressive... Less impressive than ultra-impressive, that is. All that said: I get your point & basically agree: we can and will need to play better at night than we have in 50% of our night games.

Seems like Fox and FS1 are undecided between our game, Penn State v Rutgers, and Illinois v Iowa. Any idea why that would be? I'd assume they end up putting whichever they think is best at noon on Fox?

I'm going and trying to figure out logistics of getting down there from Philly, so any educated speculation would be appreciated

That's wild - I can see debating between our game and PSU's game given the size of the fanbases and where both teams are in the standings. But Illinois-Iowa? Why would any network want to show that? It's going to be a 10-7 game (I'm predicting a higher score than last year's matchup!) between two average-ish teams.

Good. Every night game at Maryland is bitter cold by the end and we end up frozen (my son never wants to leave early or even start moving to the exits).

Day game gives me hope, though in these parts, the winter damp/rain weather is looming! Hold out just 12 more days!
