U-M Hockey vs WI BTT - Saturday Open Thread
A frustrating game yesterday: GF good, GA not so much. But Holtzy's 1st career goal was an OTGWG! Tonight we need to get started on time, bring the energy all the periods, and finish them, in regulation would be nice.

Let's Go Blue! Broom the Badgers! And no majors/GMs/DQs for us, plz.
you old enough for that? we're going to need to see some ID.
I'm so old I was grandfathered-in when the drinking age went back up to 21.
These days, I'm just a grandfather.
"But a man shouldn’t fool with booze until he’s fifty; then he’s a damnfool if he doesn’t."
Not sure I necessarily agree but it's an interesting quote.
2 hours ahead of you
So next week it is either Ohio, thwND or FYS. I assume we prefer FYS.
Shots: U-M 18, WI 11, tot 42, 40.
Adam Fantilli 3G, 1A
Luke Hughes 2A
1G, 1A ea: McGroarty, Samoskevich
1G ea: Moyle, TJ Hughes
1A ea: Brindley, Holtz, Keranen, Pehrson, Nazar, Duke
Six out of the last seven games have come down to last minutes (tonight) or OT/SO (the other 5). i guess at least they are getting accustomed to pressure.
Not sure this trend is good as we head into coin flip season.
Final three goals in 1:26 of game time.
Go Blue!
Still sitting at 4th in the PWR
Probability matrix has us at a 70% chance of a top 4 finish in PWR. At this point 4th or 5th seems most likely with a small chance of #3.
A win next week should all but clinch a top seed in the tourney.
PWR movement so far, with 2 BTT games later today:
BT: PSU moved up one to 7th, OSU dropped from 9th to 11th. ND dropped from 14th to 16th. FYS is 19th, didn't record last week.
St. Cloud St dropped from 5th to 8th. BU & Harvard each moved up one to 5th & 6th. WMU & MTU also up one to 9th & 10th.
MN St moved up from 15th to 13th. Cornell dropped from 13th to 14th.
From a B1G tourney perspective, Michigan hosts the winner of Penn State at OSU in the one game semi-final - Correct? PSU plays in Columbus to decide the series later today (Sunday).
And, that semi-final will be at Yost on Saturday March 11th.
In the other half of the draw, Minnesota will host the winner of the ND vs MSU series, with MSU playing at ND tonight to settle that quarterfinal.
Is my understanding accurate?
Go Blue!
No, it's reseeded. If PSU (lowest seed) wins, they face MN, we get ND/FYS winner. If OSU wins, we get them, ND/FYS winner is lowest seed and faces MN.
Thanks…. At least Michigan plays at Yost the next game. And, I sincerely hope “The Children of Yost” make their presence known.
