Bad slashing penalty for Samo. Not needed

Duke also got a little too ambitious there. Don't need to go 1 on 3 in the house when you're on the pp

Just got home from work and turned on the game. Had a migraine all last night and all day today. Nothing a little PBR and Blue Dream can’t fix though.

5-2 and just killed back to back penalties.

Back when I played, Ken Dryden was the tallest goalie known to mankind and I think he was 6 foot four. Portillo being 6 foot six and pretty mobile is astounding. I would think he would make a very valuable NHL goalie just based on a size alone.

Our goalies at Michigan we’re all under 6 foot with a possible exception of Fricker. He might’ve been right about 6 foot.

Portillo still has some work to do as far as rebound control and they’d have to make a choice between Levi and Portillo if they’re making a move this year (which isn’t certain).

signing both Levi and Portillo wouldn’t make sense. The goalies would benefit more getting 100% of the minutes in college than they would splitting time with each other in the AHL.

Neither is ready for the NHL* (as goalies take a bit longer than players) so I’d guess, if anything, they sign one. And I’d assume they’d lean Levi there.

*- As an example, Jack LaFontaine was an extremely good college goalie that put up big numbers as a Junior (had a down senior season) and hasn’t had any success in the NHL (.780 in 2 games) or AHL (.880 in 9 games). Portillo has been really good, but going from college to the NHL is a HUGE step

I love these announcers

Announcer #1:  "What does AIC need to do to get back in this game?"

Announcer #2:  "They need to score a goal."

Seems like Michigan is playing more conservative at this point - defensemen arent crashing in as much. Another nice clinic in wasting time in the 3rd

Michigan making a habit of taking a lead and just grinding the 3rd period into dust. A good habit to have

Literally nothing noteworthy has happened this period
