THIS goalie was allowing one a game for months? How bad is East Coast hockey this year?
Why would you use this game as an example of eastern hockey being down this year? They won their game, eastern hockey is down this year but not because of the teams in the tournament. They've actually done pretty well, forcing OT games. Based on the tourney so far, you could probably argue that the NCHC is overrated.
Because nobody scored on Quinnipiac for months and their defense/goaltending basically sucked. They advanced because SCSU's goalie was out with pneumonia and the backup allowed 5 goals on 16 shots.

It's Quinnipiac, 5-4.

Q-piac survives 5-4.
We now know the enemy. Their fate awaits them 6:30 pm Sunday.
As I watch the Denver vs Minnesota-Duluth round of 8 game right now, I'm left wondering about the cluelessness of the NCAA as it pertains to the NCAA Hockey Tournament.
Being that it's essentially a home game for Denver University, it's no surprise there's a full house for this game. In the meantime, most of the games in the other three regionals have been played in front of a sea of empty seats
Is there any valid reason the stuffed shirts running this annual tourney can't figure out a way to have the first two rounds played on the home ice of the top seeds? It seems to work just fine for the WBB tournament, as we saw last weekend at Crisler and arenas across the country. And it seems to work just fine for the vast majority of NCAA sports. So why TF not for hockey?
Rant over; one more period to go in a 1-1 tie. Tune in if you can on ESPN-U, the 3rd period should begin at approximately 5:45.
Winner of this one faces the winner of tomorrow's Q-piac vs MICHIGAN game next weekend.
