A bit of winter chill in the air (A2 & Minneapolis) for hockey gameday. Can we beat the odds and move up in PWR?

Time: 8 PM EDT

MGoWatchalong? Don't see anything yet.

Let's Go Blue! Kill the Gophers! And no majors/GMs/DQs for us, plz!

if for no other reason than to have those announcers have to walk-back the ridiculous, over-the-top love fest for minny, i hope we win this game going away.

go blue!

The larger ice is such an advantage for Minny.  Playing on that all year and the talent they have amplifies it.  When I played aaa back in the day (‘86 honeybaked) and we played teams on open ice like this it was basically drawing them out to open water and drowning them.  They stood no chance.

that said! GOOOOOAAAALLLLL LFG!

It's funny watching this game and listening to the MGoCommentary because them responding to my annoyance with these announcers better than I can is cathartic.

when we lived in the UP, NMU built a new rink (now 25 years ago.  i'm so old...) and it was olympic sized ice.  it did make a difference in the game and it was the first time i'd played on that large of a surface.  not a question of conditioning, but of strategy.  yost of course is barely regulation (old style) so i would assume the guys practiced on other sheets this week that were olympic sized.
