We’re getting lots of pressure and decent looks but nothing super dangerous and it fees like somehow ND gets something super dangerous whenever they actually possess the puck in our zone

I hate Notre Dame so much. The amount of blocked shots they get is insane. Puck luck seems like it’s always on their side and with their style of play, it’s such a sloppy game.

You can control play for 80% of the game and theyre going to hold you at bay with their style and then somehow they capitalize whenever they get their looks. It’s frustrating as hell, can only imagine how the players feel.

Its a no duh moment, but man Michigan has a penalty problem. 2nd in total PIM, 2nd in majors. And you’re surrounded by bad teams down there. I don’t know what it is with how we’re coached but theres clearly a fundamental issue of some kind

I swear it’ll be how we get knocked out of the tournament. Take a billion penalties and lose 5-2 to some team we’re better than

Yeah Michigan is getting a different whistle than other teams due to the amount of talent Michigan has accrued (imo, that’s the reason). Between not getting calls and questionable calls going against Michigan, it’s created a significant impact on the team.

Officiating is skewed to not give the superiorly talented Michigan as many advantages and to more severely punish them to “level the playing field” in a sense.

Seems like the NCAA needs to re-work their “points of emphasis”. I get you want to minimize any and all head contact but I swear of the 10 we’ve taken this year, only like 2 wouldve been majors 3 or 4 years ago. Feels like you need a middle ground of a 2 minute minor and a 5 minute misconduct to the offending player or something because a 5 minute major for glancing contact feels like a 50 yard penalty for an incidental facemask. Id bet the number of majors called in recent years is WAY over historical norms

It’s hard for me to be unbiased because I don’t know reffing that well. But it sure feels like we don’t draw penalties commensurate with the level of dominance often visible on the ice. Our PP could honestly be a bit better, but it is deadly and sometimes I feel like the refs think about that before they will raise their arm.
