Ty Law honorary captain for Pats today

Submitted by 901 P on

As the article states, the Pats named Ty Law honorary captain for the AFC championship game this afternoon. It also refers to Law as Peyton Manning's "nemesis" and describes his success against Manning during his career. If you think about Law, Woodson, and Brady it seems like several Wolverines have had Manning's number over the years.

(Sorry if this has been posted. I did a quick search and didn't see anything. And I'm not sure if this is "forum-worthy," but the board seems sort of quiet today so I thought I'd post it. )

A number of media guys in Boston are I in disbelief that he's not in the HOF. I think it's only a matter of time, but he's well respected around the pats organization.

That's what I meant--the fact that Woodson won the Heisman over Manning. So you have Woodson standing in the way of Manning winning the biggest award in college football, and you have Brady standing in the way of Manning possibly winning multiple Super Bowls and being considered indisputably the best QB of his generation.

A conversation I'll never forget, had some beers at Touchdown Cafe in the fall of 95 with my buddy that was a student manager of the football team that year. We were talking about how good Ty Law was and how much we'll miss him that season. He told me there was a freshman named Charles Woodson that was already a better cover corner than Ty Law, who was just drafted 23rd overall. I obviously didn't believe him, hadn't even heard of Woodson yet. That changed fairly quickly....

I'm as sick of them as anyone else. But hey, I know more Pat fans and I'm more likely to get invited to a Super Bowl party if they're playing. So...
