Two thoughts I have on the coaching carousel as it pertains to Michigan
One, I hope none of our assistants are even looking to interview right now with the bigten champ game coming up. That’s how you lose games by losing focus.
Two, we have stability that none of these other programs can point to three weeks from signing day. Our coach is even giving bonus money back to other employees. This should help us land several of these top kids, especially with our success this year. Kids should see these coaches disloyalty and greed vs Harbaugh’s loyalty and lack of greed.

He is a weird guy. A brutal corporate kind of guy. I guess he has won so much, just like many of those successful CEOs. Then again many of those CEOs are assholes.

So is Saban.

Sounds like Doug Marrone and Bill O’Brien have already worn out their welcome. Sometimes change is just change with no benefits. We pulled one of those maneuvers where I worked back in the mid-90s.

I get your point but that’s highly unlikely. The more your team succeeds, the more likely ppl on your staff will get offered promotions. That’s just the nature of the beast and you can’t get mad at coaches wanting to be the best they can be by moving up the ranks.

Agree with the premise. Advantage Michigan.

Success brings opportunity. If our assistants are taking upgrade jobs, so be it. We will go hire other upcoming assistants.
Can’t hang onto your whole staff when you win.

Just last season the fan base wanted him fired for Matt Campbell... I will not forget.

That definitely was not me. I’ve had my moments with Jim, mostly because he seemed checked out the last few years but I’ve never been on the Campbell train. Funny how none of these programs are on that train either. He was a shooting star that stayed one season too long to cash in.

Forget what? That sports fans are fickle as hell. Well duh. Here's a prediction I have - if we lose in Columbus next year, a not insignificant number of people on this board will say "well, he's 1-6 against OSU, that's just not good enough, that's unacceptable.". Heck, if we lose to Iowa, some people will go "we're more talented than Iowa, there's no way we should lose to them in a game as big as this."
It's just the reality of the business that Jim signed up for. But don't feel too bad, in lieu of getting lifelong blind loyalty from fans, Jim is getting paid a pretty reasonable amount of money for his troubles.

I think the NFL will always hold interest to Harbaugh, and I can understand that. But I wouldn't be able to handle him leaving for another college program on his own volition. I'm sure ND feels the same way about their program being the pinnacle - what a gut wrenching feeling.
That being said, refreshing their blogs to read comments gives me life. INJECT IT DIRECTLY INTO MY BLOODSTREAM, I NEED MORE

With regard to ND, I can’t wait for Brady Quinn’s take on Kelly to LSU.

They will unfortunately and that’s all part of being successful. Every coach on Harbaughs staff is on someone’s radar and the ATMs are being loaded with cash.

Hoping these assistant coaches get hefty pay raises and bonus pay here at Michigan.
