Two MORE redshirts burned
Going through the box score and the participation report, I noticed that we have two more burned redshirts.
Carlo Kemp and Elysee Mbem-Bosse both got into the action.
At this point it's easier to list those who still HAVE their redshirt as 21 of the 26 players that made it to the team from the 2016 class have burned their redshirt.
Those players with RS still remaining are: Ronald Johnson, Quinn Nordin, Brandon Peters, Stephen Spanellis and Kareem Walker.

The bottom line is, if we want to compete with the Buckeyes we must be willing to play our true freshmen. Why? Because we must be competitive with them in recruiting, and nowadays the most sought after, talented and physically ready recruits know that the best football programs (Alabama, OSU, etc.) are promising playing time for freshmen who can beat out upper classmen. So it's a recruiting advantage to announce a "meritocracy" and then back it up like Harbaugh already is doing. And we want the best players on the field. If it were up to some posters on this board, Gary and McDoom and Asiasi and Bredeson, etc., etc., wouldn't be playing this year because conventional wisdom says "they need to be developed for another year or two." And finally, we're a better team on the field with those guys, and so is Ohio State and other top twenty teams with theirs. And Donnie Corley looked just fine yesterday stealing a TD out of the grasp of Notre Dame's best corner. If the kid is that good, don't worry about his redshirt.

Could always red shirt them next year if it's that big a deal.

Medical red shirt, yes. But the regular redshirt is only for freshman.

the only way this is good is that a message. has been sent to 2017 & 2018 class. if you are good enough you will play no matter what.

Or maybe it also means that a lot of freshmen are good enough to see the field.
